RH Clay Buchholz (15-5 2.21)

Saturday 6:10 CSN
RH Gavin Floyd (9-11 3.86)
RH John Lackey (12-8 4.60)

Sunday 12:35 CSN

Bosox are probably out of the playoff hunt. They have had a lot of injuries but are still 2nd in the AL in homers. Sox bullpen should be better with the day off yesterday and the return of Thornton.

A young pitcher, some dude named Infante was called up, along with OF De Aza, prospect C Flowers, and reportedly 3B prospect Morel.

Infante's not young. He's a veteran they brought in during Spring Training who couldn't make the team. He's been bad in AAA also.

I really hope the Sox can pick up a game this weekend. I'm disappointed they only picked up .5 during the last series.

Boston's rotation still scares me.

Any of these games likely to get rained out?

Actually, the Sox were 4.5 games out and between the Sox sweeping the Indians and the Twins dropping the final game (despite winning the series 2-1) to Detroit, the Sox gained a full game to draw to within 3.5. It's just that the Sox played Monday while the Twins were off and then the Twins played Thursday, while the Sox were off. But the Sox gained a full game over the last 4 days during which each team played a 3 game series.

Oh, and Infante is a pretty young pitcher...he's 23.

Likely to be rained out tonight.

Lackey has been pretty weak this year and Becketts ERA is very high as well, getting a game here would be nice....last nights game may have taxed the Twins too, looks like it screwed their rotation up a bit and Texas is a bad matchup for them

Correct on all counts. I was thinking of Aquino and missed the different series dates. I am darry!

The Sox miss Lester which is HUGE. Bring on Lackey. He's 3-5 with a 4.06 ERA (not including a 5 inning 5 run thrashing the the '05 ALCS) against the Sox. They need to take 2-3 this weekend.

In case you were wondering what a Carmine was, Idunno. Ask Hawk.

Buchholz is the real deal. Now I understand why Epstein was unwilling to trade him. Beckett has been awful and Lackey not much better this year. I say the White Sox take 2 out of 3.

White Sox have to take 2 out of 3, minimum in every series left. This one will be tough, but with only 30 games left, that's the position they are in.

Hopefully, we see a rebound in Danks. He's been bad of late.

90% chance of rain at game time today...100% the next hour...hopefully Joe West isn't umping.

To no one's surprise, the White Sox/Red Sox game scheduled for tonight has been postponed. "The Insider", "Tyler Perry's House of Payne", "Everybody Hates Chris", "My Wife and Kids", "George Lopez" & "Frasier" are thrilled...All of those shows would've been pre-empted this eve on WCIU 26 The U.

The two teams are now scheduled for a day-night DH tomorrow at 12Noon & 6:10p respectively in Boston. It'll be a long day's journey into night for the Ranger on 670 The SCORE & the TOYOTA Chicago White Sox Radio Network, as will Chuck Garfien & Bill Melton on Comcast SportsNet. That's for sure.

WCIU 26 The U will actually carry Game 1 of the twinbill at 12Noon, much to the seagrin of "Malcolm & Eddie", "Martin", "Sister Sister" & "Moesha". All of those sitcoms will be preempted, while Comcast SportsNet carries Game 2 as scheduled at 6:10p. 670 The SCORE's Ranger has a long day, starting at 11:30a with "Lowe's Pregame" for both games...

That's a pathetic looking Boston lineup, it's amazing they've stayed in relative contention.

Whew. That inning could have been ugly. Buchholz is out of the game. Time to tack on 3-4 runs.

Great outing by Johnny Sack (I actually like that nickname Larry gave him). Now the bullpen needs to hold them down for 2 innings though it would be nice to add a couple more runs and save Thornton and Jenks for game 2.

Nice win, Men. 7 strong innings by Johnny Danks and scoreless innings from Santos and Big Bobby Jenks. The lead is back to 3.5. Now I get to watch the Rangers/Twins then the 2nd Sox game. Nice day of baseball. Go Rangers!
