Mike North is just plain horrid, the interview was a train wreck, talk about making a fool out of yourself. Mike was too busy, talking about himself and trying too hard to show that he could relate to Archie, and New Orleans telling Archie that he goes to N.O. 3 times a year.
Archie is a class act, and being interviewed by Mike North, was just a an embarassment.

Is anyone surprised by this?

Couldn't be much worse than the PJ Brown interview- "yeah I saw the Heat and the Mavs last night"...must be in some parallel universe as the Mavs played the Pistons and the Heat played the Kings....I did hear him correct himself the next time he mentioned it...yeah Mike, I really believe you intensly prepared for this interview by actually watching a game

The fans of San Diego may disagree with the classy level of Archie Manning.


Luckily for them, San Diego got the better QB anyways, but Archie Manning is still a dick.

I missed most of the Archie interview. Did the subject come up about Eli & the Chargers? Or was this glossed over. Did North ask if Eli (or Archie) has any regrets?

Not only did San Diego get the better QB but they also parlayed the 2005 #12 pick they got from the Giants in the deal into Shawn Merriman. Didn't they also basically get Drew Brees and Ladanian Thomlinson for Vick? Those are some nice deals by the Chargers.

Why was Manning on ? Was he promoting something ?

Mike said SD doesn't look so bad now, does it Archie? He said there wasn't many GM's who would trade their QB for "his boy" Eli. It was a hard listen and totally over the line telling Archie his son sucks.

Did he say that Eli Manning sucked or that SD is looking really good because of the trade ?

Big difference there, and if Manning is coming on to talk about the NFL, is North supposed to say Eli is playing well ?

Archie may not be a class act, however after what happened to him early in his career, I don't know that I blame him. If it was your son who knows what any of us would have done.

My point in this post was not to say how great Archie is but rather what embarassment Mike North is, when he interviews people, tryin so hard to relate to them when its not needed and and nothin to the interview, also always trying to relate his own life to actual famous people. The interview was a painful listen.
