I don't know 'bout you guys, but as I get older, I have limited interest in sports games beyond my team. So, watching last nights football game was not something I've doing a lot of lately. So, that Reggie Bush, what the fu...

What I really mean, is (also) is why cannot the Bears figure out a way to use Jones and Benson the way they Saints can use Staley and Bush. The Saints had all sortsa ways to get Bush the ball as a reciever, a running back, going around the end; meanwhile Staley was an effective runner as well. Granted, Rex is no Drew, but still.

Well why wouldn't any team use their RB's like the saints use Mcallister and bush...

To answer your question, neither is as talented as bush.

To answer my question, only one or two other backs are nearly as talented, and they do get used in a similar fashion. See LT, or LJ.

First comparing Benson to Bush is like comparing my 79 ford fairmont from high school to the new lexus

Second, Payton is a play calling god. Can you say unanimous Coach of the Year.

Third, the talent Brees has to lob out those screen passes over 6'4" linemen takes a lot more touch than Grossman currently has.

Other than that it is a sound strategy to finish up the season

And why cannot we all stop using contractions? It sounds so Shakespearean, which we get so little of on this board. :)

Would the Saints trade us Bush for Benson or McAllister for Jones? That might answer your question.

Although I'll still hold out on Benson until I get a few full games from him to see what he can do. But, based on their work right now, you have to Bush in front of Benson, absolutely, no question.

I have to be careful how I word this, but here goes...

I have been impressed with Reggie Bush. His last 2 games have been outstanding, especially for a rookie. If that is what Bush is going to be, then LOOKOUT. However, on the whole, while he has a large number of receptions, he is averaging 8.7 yards per catch (decent for a RB, but he lines up as a wideout more than most) and 3.2 yards per run. Prior to last week, I had thought he'd been something of a disappointment for a #2 pick. While he has some spectacular highlight film moments, his body of work had been less than unbelieveable. In his first 11 games his highest running output was 67 yards (week 1) and receiving was 68 yards (week 2) with a total of 2 TDs.

But, he has been spectacular the past 2 weeks averaging 128 yards receiving with 5 TDs. So maybe he is just hitting his stride now.

To me, Benson is still an incomplete. He's finally getting some carries the past 3 games and is averaging 5.4 yards per carry over that time (29 carries). So, he has some potential. If he can get some carries and hold at 4.5-5.0 yards/carry, then we can revisit this topic IMO.
