You know what makes me mad about the Twins winning the Central most years? They're gonna go to the playoffs and lose in the first round again. Such a waste. I wonder how their fans feel about winning their last title in 1991, yet having won the Central in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, and likely, 2010. That's a lot of division titles with nothing to show for it.

OKC, the Minnesota Twins aren't going away anytime soon. In addition to a critically acclaimed new ballpark in Target Field with new revenue streams, I think they've got something else the White Sox wish they had. The Twins have a farm system with Major League-ready players who can help the Twins continue to win the A.L. Central for years to come. My dad mentioned something about a possible dynasty up there in Minnesota. The Twins are going to dominate the A.L. Central for quite sometime, and there's little the Sox, Royals & Tigers can do about it.

By the way, if the Twins get the Yankees or Rangers in Round 1 of the MLB Playoffs, I think despite their recent injuries in their starting rotation, the Twins have a legitimate shot to advance to the A.L.C.S. Quite frankly, I'm not scared of the Yankees' pitching staff other than C.C. Sabathia & Andy Pettitte, if healthy, let alone the Rangers' Cliff Lee, especially since he's been terrible since the trade.

I wouldn't go that far, SHARK. Sure the Twins jumped up a level in payroll thanks to the new ballpark but they have SERIOUS money committed to 3 players. Mauer will make $23M, Morneau $14M and Nathan $11.25 next season. They also have a $10.5M option for Cuddyer (is he worth that?). That's $58.75M to only 4 players. Pavano, Thome, Hudson and Guerrier are all free agents and Liriano, Young, Hardy, Capps and Slowey are all arbitration eligible.

The Twins are going to have to pay out bigtime money to keep this 'dynasty' team together. Sure they have a good farm system but they recently traded their top prospect for a mediocre closer. GM Bill Smith has some tough decisions to make this off season.

While the Sox are wetting the bed- losing a series to the lowly Royals, the Twins are winning 6-2 against the Indians in the 7th inning and will win yet another series and should have a comfy 7 game lead, going into the series Tuesday with the White Sox....who they have beaten 8/ 12 on the season.

the twins are "peaking"...which probably means, as Kid pointed out, they will flame out in the first round of the playoffs.

I went to this game last night. I'm sitting there pulling my hair out while fans were politely clapping for the effort. That team should have been booed off the field yesterday, not because they lost, but because they put no effort into a pennant drive game.

Is there a team that loses more "must win" games than Ozzie Guillen managed teams? Mr. Inspiration's teams consistently come out flat. The starting pitchers have been particularly sackless in giving up multiple early inning runs in critical games. I'm sure that loud mouthed New Yorker has an excuse for it.

Anyway, Ozzie's second half record in his career is becoming very troublesome. I don't think he loses the team overall but it might be an indication that they grow weary of him as the season goes on.

They showed fight today but that hardly makes up for Saturday's piss poor effort. I'm not sure if I can blame it on Ozzie though. He wasn't popping up on the infield, throwing to the wrong base or fielding ground balls like a fucking pinball machine.

I respect your restraint for only pulling your hair out while watching that crap. I would have gone Ligue on someone. :eye:

Yeah, the Sox managed to stay in the exact same position in the standing they found themselves in prior to the Royals series, they are 6 games out. They Needed to sweep and they needed the Indians to win more than 1 game. Neither happened and now there are just 19 games left. The Twins will begin a series with the Sox on Tuesday, knowing even if they get swept, they would still hold a 3 game lead on the pale hose. However, with an 8-4 record on the season VS the Sox, the Twins are more likely to be putting nails into the Sox coffin, than just trying to avoid a sweep. Oh and fatass, you already lost the bet!

He has already lost the bet. Even if the Sox were to sweep the Twins (which is highly unlikely, since the Twins have gone 8-4 against the Sox on the season and have lost just 1 series since the All-Star break) the Twins would still lead the division by 3 full games. His prediction was ridiculous as most everyone recognized immediately when he made it. I think he knew it too, or he would have bet more than a lousy dollar. It was all but an admission he himself knew the proclamation was ludicrous.

I thought about doing that. I also thought about sending a penny, along with a check for 99cents. And in the memo of the check, write "for KKK hoods" or something like that.

But nah, I really won't do that as much as I'd like to. I will send him 1 good ole paper dollar.....if he decides to give me a mailing address.

You "thought"....trying new things huh? I'll give you this to consider. I'll go double or nothing that the Twins win the series starting Tuesday VS the Sox. Or have you given up on the Sox and come to realize the Twins are just vastly superior?

That said, I am done playing your silly games and want to mail you what I owe.

I thought you might chicken out. You don't believe the Sox will sweep, or you would have made the bet. To win only requires 2/3, but you may have finally seen the light. Maybe you're not as dumb as you seem. :? You would have just lost again. You can keep the dollar in your wallet until such time as I make a remote or some gathering you will be at that I decide to attend. I wouldn't be so stupid as to give out my home or business address. The bet was more about making you look stupid for the ridiculous proclamation/prediction you made. It served that purpose already, even BEFORE the Twins series has started. With Liriano, Duensing and Pavano going and the Twins handling the Sox 8 times of 12 so far this season, I wasn't going out on any limb predicting a series win for the Twins.

 So until the mighty 'steven in elmhurst' decides to show up or not somewhere I have to sit on this? You haven't had the balls to show up at a CSFMB event before, so why would you now?

Fuck that. If you care to collect, send me a PM with a mailing address by the end of the day today. If not, you can kiss your precious dollar goodbye and you can also kiss my ass.

Just like the last time you lost a bet to me (2008) and failed to pay up. You're a lousy welcher that just looks for a way to weasel out of paying up. You can take that dollar to the bank, get a roll of pennies, turn that somabitch sideways and stick it straight up your fat disgusting candy ass!! The idea that I would (and I NEVER said I would) give out my address which could easily be disseminated after the fact, in order to collect on a dollar you owe..... No, if I collect, it will be in person. You lost, you owe me a dollar, to be collected if/when I see you.

It was never about the dollar, it was about affording you the opportunity to look stupid. You took the opportunity and ran with it. Mission accomplished.
