With the Sox 11 games out in the A.L. Central (the biggest lead in any division in either league) with only 12 games left in the season, a Twins win and a White Sox loss (not much to ask of a team thats dropped 7 straight) will clinch the A.L. Cental for the Twins. Not only that, but a Sox loss and a Rays win, would also leave them dead in the Wild card as well. The Sox are actually 4 games under .500 now, in competition VS American League teams in 2010. The Sox have a chance to finish remarkably....they could continue their dramatic streak of ineptitude long enough for the Tigers to pass them up in the standings! Hell, they still have a shot at a losing season!!

Have to admire Steve's tenacity to promote all things SOX BAD.

It's more interest than the players have.

The Twins beat the Indians 6-4 (Twins are now 91-60  ) and the Sox are on their way to losing their 8th straight game, trailing the A's 5-2 in the 8th inning. It looks like my prediction that it would all end tonight is coming true where the division is concerned. The Rays lost though, so complete elimination from the playoffs will have to wait until tomorrow.

So you finally realized that the White Sux term is juvenile?

I now see that taking pleasure in rubbing in the Sox situation to their fans on this board is your response mechanism for the disdain you've received for your racist posts. Do you ever wish you had never posted that nonsense? Or are you just fine with the way things turned out.

I'm sure he's fine with the way things have turned out. The reason? He is a tool.

His team has again shit the bed (as he "predicted") and now has nothing else to look forward to but picking on Sox fans.

Steve enjoys this because his life sucks.

Anyone can see that, but he won't admit it because he's Elmhurst Steve.

I'm surprised he hasn't been trumpeting the Cubs resurgence after they have absolutely no pressure on them to perform well.

The Sox have obviously quit on their manager after being gutted by the Twins but at least they were in contention for a good part of the summer.

The best thing about this, is that the Twins have so many good young players on the rise (Valencia for example) that will be taking over for guys like Punto and IMPROVING the team(at a lower salary to boot). PLUS, they have more money than ever to spend on free agents and may well go after top notch free agents too. With all things considered, it may be a long time before the Sox can sniff another division Championship and with N.Y. , Boston and Tampa all being teams that should continue to be top tier organizations, the wild card is not likely either. Meanwhile, the Cubs are playing much better since Piniella was removed as manager, have some money to spend with all the moves they made and contracts that have expired. Plus, it's a far more winable division, so their chances at getting back into the playoffs sooner, are much greater. Things are definitely looking up.

Yep, in 5 days, I'll find out if I get to buy them. That should be a fun trip, if I do.
