Many of these seats are in the end zone. I highly recommend moving around the stadium to find better seats on the Visitor's side (East side). You'll get a much better vantage point. Unless the Chippewas bring alot of fans (which I doubt) you should have plenty of seats to choose from. Ushers RARELY ask to see ticket stubs. Just act like you know what you are doing and sit in open seats. If someone comes with those seats later, just move. Even seats on the second level of the Home side (West side) should be better (farther away, but better angle. Like I said before, Ushers RARELY ask to see tickets, particularly for non-conference games.

If you do show up more than an hour before the game. You should have no problem finding a great parking spot North of Noyes... just cross that little public golf course (seriously, people just walk through that dog track of a course) and you'll eventually run into Ryan Field.

I'm struggling on food options. I really want to do Fontano's subs, but having trouble getting them to open up early enough. I was also thinking of getting pulled pork sandwiches from Heckys, but how am I going to get over there to pick it up and still hold my spot. Another option would be to go over to Mustard's last stand and pick up some dogs and a little canned heat to keep it warm. Any thoughts?

so graciously provided by MUD. I'll bring them to the tailgate in case anybody wants them.

Speaking of swag... for the first 10 people at the tailgate, you'll have your pick of some purple paraphernalia... no, not that kinda paraphernalia... I picked up some T-shirts from my buddy's Dave and Cindy at Let's Tailgate.

Cindy used to be my favorite beer vendor in left field of Comiskey and the Cell.

All tix are gone.
- Got 2 for spanky
- Got 4 for slapshot ed

Remember tickets aren't great seats, but you should be able to move around the stadium to get a better angle. Given the size of Ryan Field, there really isn't a bad seat in the house (relative to most of the gigantic college stadiums where the cheap seats watch the jumbotron more than the field).

I will probably only use 1 ticket if you have someone else who wants the other one.

Big news... nice visitor will be coming to Ryan Field

Lord Stanley's Cup

EVANSTON, Ill. -- One of sport's most cherished and recognizable trophies will visit Ryan Field this Saturday (Sept. 25) morning, just prior to the 11 a.m. kickoff between Northwestern and Central Michigan.

The National Hockey League's Stanley Cup, which landed in Chicago in June after the Blackhawks defeated the Flyers in the Stanley Cup final, will be part of a pregame presentation when Northwestern's Department of Athletics recognizes Blackhawks' Chairman Rocky Wirtz, a 1975 Northwestern graduate, and Blackhawks' President John McDonough, a frequent Northwestern lecturer and a Faculty Advisory Board member for Northwestern's master of arts in sports administration program. This recognition ceremony is set to take place at approximately 10:50 a.m. at midfield.

"As a native Chicagoan who grew up cheering for the Blackhawks, this is a thrill for our fans," said Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald. "It's terrific that we can recognize Rocky and John who have been so instrumental in leading the Blackhawks back to the top of the NHL. There should be plenty of electricity in the stadium on Saturday with the Stanley Cup on the field and our students back in the stands."

Saturday's visit to Ryan Field marks the first public appearance for the Stanley Cup since the names of the 2009-10 Blackhawks championship team were engraved on the Cup in Montreal this past week.

The flagpole arrived. Look for the Northwestern flag (N logo with the Wildcat) and he Blackhawks flag underneath it in the West lot. It will be flying over a black Chevy Traverse. Heckys BBQ pulled pork with coleslaw and cornbread plus plenty of beer. Heckys should show up around 10:00 AM. There'll also be some soda, water, and snacks.

Picked up a little present at the store for you today too.
