With the state of the NFC, 8,9 or 10 wins will likely get you in. A 7-9 team might win the NFC West

What the hell happened with nick collins and the fan who dropped a racial slur on him after the game?

I guess Collins threw something in the stands at the fan.

Are there any morons out there who still regret the Cutler trade?

We're going to see Cutler and rodgers battle it out for quite a few years.

Although I was going to punch someone if I heard one more thing about them being friends. Like it was the most amazing thing since sliced bread.

Same boobs who find a Cubs fan sitting next to a Sox game at a crosstown game and act like they found Osama Bin Laden eating lunch with Jimmy Hoffa.

If we're talking season, this will be all about injuries. The NFC is stunningly bad. If the Bears can stay healthy, it's game time. They have four current and former head coaches. They may all be bad head coaches, but they know enough about football to be put in that position at one time. We've seen it with in-game changes, which I haven't seen in a long time, if ever. I'm just really excited this is a real season! Now I can start thinking bigger.

What happened is that the team that is most likely better had yellow laundry thrown all over the field because of thier stupid play throughout the game. I'm glad the Bears won. There were a TON of big plays made and people stepped up when they needed to, but all of those penalties. My goodness, the Packers basically handed them the game in that regard.

That's why you don't play the games on paper, Frank. Why don't we just calculate which team is better and give them the win? You play the game on the field.

This was not the day to say something like this. This could very easily have been a repeat of last years first game against the Packers. I will fully admit he was amazing in the first two games though.

However, given my rule that I'm trying to be more "fair" to Jay Cutler I won't say anything further for a few more weeks.

This. He made a number of poor/dumb throws last night. But, he also made a number of plays with his legs, something that Grossman and Orton could not have done.

He also does hold the ball way too long in an attempt to make some plays. When it works it's great but he takes sacks/hits higher than he could or should because of it. I guess it's just his style though but most of the games best QB's have learned to throw it away and live another day.

He threw a couple away last night, he also didn't stand a chance against some of those rushes. Yes, he should throw the ball away more. He still makes plays with his legs that a lot of other QBs could not make.

Being sarcasitic in text apparently is not much easier than searching thru months of old posts to prove a silly point.

Mike McCarthy should be getting just as much crap as Lovie for being one of the worst head coaches in the NFL. (Maybe he does get this amount of crap - I'm not as tuned in to Sheboygan sports-talk radio as I should be). I am not talking about play calling - I'm talking about game management and big-time in-game decisions.

a). You cannot waste a TO to review the James Jones fumble with only a few minutes left in the game. That was clearly recovered in-bounds by the Bears. TO's are too valuable at that point.

2). Whe the Bears have the ball inside the 5 yard line with a little over 1 minute left, the Pack only had one chance to win: let the Bears score, take your remaining TO and get the ball back with about a minute to play. McCarthy chose to let the Bears run the clock down to 4 seconds and kick a 19 yard FG. Nobody can win from that position.

Final Bullet-Point). 17 penalties cannot fall on blaming the officials (you know that the callers to the Wausau superstation are all over that this morning) - that's discipline and coaching. Just like Coughlin gets the blame for all of the NYG's penalties this week, so should McCarthy.

Mike McCarthy is in way over his head. Not that I agree with Favre often, but he wasn't happy with McCarthy being the head coach when he had his falling out with GB either. He was on to something.....

**Also - this just in: Aaron Rodgers is pretty good. His feet are an under-rated weapon. He may have the best mobility right now outside of QB's that have been to federal prison or taken part in video-taped strip club fights. And have you seen his hose?

+1

I really didn't understand why they didn't just get out of the way and let the Bears score. If I was the Bears in that situation, I would have just taken a knee, which would have eliminated the chance of the other team letting you score.

Good point. That third TO would have been very valuable in stopping the clock and at least giving the Packers a chance to get the ball back with 40-50 seconds left.

The only penalty that I saw that I disagreed with was the roughing against Rogers. I thought that was a legit tackle, but I forgot you can't breathe on a QB anymore. Cutler was clearly roughed with the helmet to chinstrap hit, and every holding and pass interference call that was shown on replay against GB was legit. There were a ton of penalties last night, but still I thought the officials did a good job and got them pretty much all correct.
