I've had Netflix for about 2yrs and started taking full advantage of the instant movies recently and I'm sad to say that I may be the last person on earth to see my most recent views: Wall Street & The Boondock Saints. Wall St was really good but the Saints was outstanding!

My suggestion - Sin Nombre

Never been a Star Trek fan but I decided to check out the 1st movie. A lot better than I expected. Looking forward to The Wrath of Khan

If you like mockumentaries, check out True Stories

I also watched Dog Day Afternoon and All the President's Men over the weekend.

I recently signed up for Netflix to stream through a Sony Blu-Ray that I picked up a few weeks back.

I just plowed through Season 1 of Prison Break and thought it was a great show.

Oz season 1

Remo Williams the adventure begins. Also they are re-imaging the books back into a movie ,hopefully into a franchise.

The first movie sucked. If you liked that one, then you will probably think Wrath of Khan is Citizen Kane.

i think dr. ken and i did a list of the best of "star trek" movies, or at least from best to worst.

an updated list is in order!

11. "The Motion Picture" - I still think it's worse than "Nemesis"...speaking of which...

10. "Nemesis" - this movie was just plain dull. And the death of a beloved main character (or is it???) doesn't make up for a weak script and boring villains. Oh, speaking of boring villains!

9. "Insurrection" - I can't even remember 90% of this movie.

8. "The Final Frontier" - one of those "arguably the worst" ones. I can't remember where I had this one last time but I liked the God angle enough to put it above the other movies.

7. "The Undiscovered Country" - Some may put this below "Nemesis" or "Insurrection" but Kim Cattrall was pretty hot as a Vulcan and I liked the political undertones of this one.

6. "Generations" - I liked this actually more than a lot of ST fans but it was a bit uneven. I think I may have rated it higher than last time...but I don't want to go into the old threads to find it.

5. "Star Trek" - Boom. One of the most fun ST movies in the whole collection and certainly the fasted paced since "First Contact".

4. "The Search For Spock" - It was dull at times but if you're into the Kirk/Spock angle, it's very thick with storytelling and character development. I think this takes a few viewings to fully appreciate it. It's paced much slower but I think the pace works.

3. "The Voyage Home" - I think it's a fun movie. It's dated now because of all the 80's stuff but some of it is downright hilarious. Cool story, brah.

2. "First Contact" - This and "Wrath" are the best...you can put either one at 1 or 2 and I couldn't really argue.

1. "The Wrath of Khan" - See "First Contact".

Here's Mine:

11. Final Frontier: This can easily be swapped with #10

10. Insurrection: I've always been a TNG fan, but this movie was like a bad episode from the series, zzz

9. The Motion Picture: This should have really been titled Star Trek 2001: A Space Odyssey

8. Search For Spock: This one just bored me.

7. Star Trek (remake): I was just disappointed with this. I'm not really a fan of remakes, so maybe that just distorted my view going into it.

6. Star Trek Generations: It was fun to bridge the two series, but I wasn't really a fan of the story

5. The Voyage Home: I agree with W_Z, this was just a fun movie. It's kind of dated now, but it's still better than many of the other movies.

4. The Undiscovered Country: The cast might have been too old by the time they got to the 6th movie, but I thought it had a good story, and some good action.

3. Nemesis: I thought this had the best action out of all the original 10 movies, and I am TNG fan, so I would rate this alot higher than W_Z.

2. First Contact: I would rate anything that includes the borg very high on the list.

1. Wrath of Khan: Khan is easily the best villian in any of the movies.

Yes. We did do this but I'll do it again.

1. Wrath of Khan - unquestionably the best

2. Search for Spock - it may not actually be the 2nd best but it ties so closely with Wrath that I always put them together in my mind

3. Star Trek - I didn't think I'd like it but I really did. Wasn't perfect but did get a bit of the TOS feel that I enjoyed.

4. Undiscovered Country - I actually like this one. It kind of tied in the new relationship with Klingons that was taking place in the TNG series at the time and a fairly satisfying end to the original cast.

5. First Contact - First, and probably only, TNG movie that got the feel of that cast correctly. An interesting movie that filled in some Trek history.

6. The Voyage Home - An enjoyable film that went for the lighter tone of some of the TOS episodes and succeeded. It feels a little dated now but could easily be at #4 or so.

7. Generations - Kind of a mess of a movie that never got the right tone between TOS and TNG. An unsatisfying treatment of the Kirk character, IMO. Overall, not that great but still the 2nd best TNG cast filme.

8. The Final Frontier - just bad. The God thing was bad. The whole film felt very self-indulgent.

9. Nemesis - saw the movie and remember about 1 thing about it. And that 1 thing was not very satisfying.

10. Insurrection - saw the movie and don't remember a single thing about it. Although that might have been the one where an inexplicable marriage took place.

11. The Motion Picture - and although I literally don't remember anything about Insurrection or Nemesis, they are still better than this film. I wish I could forget as much about this one as I did the others.

The funny thing is the protaganist doesn't really appear to take it too seriously despite how many hours he puts into it. Now, as for Billy Mitchell, that's a whole different story.

I just noticed these 2 are available for instant viewing:
The Kite Runners and The Stoning of Soraya M

I saw these quite some time ago and they were both outstanding.

I've been re-watching Arrested Development. I'm just about to start season 2.
