I could never figure out why he wanted to pay out Jay Williams (or Jason, or whatever - the PG from Duke) on his contract after the motorcycle accident. His contract clearly prohibited it, but dumbass did it anyway. Why bother putting it in there if you aren't going to enforce it? In addition to all of the money, it was a wasted draft pick.

Perhaps the boys took it the wrong way.....might help to explain the recent 8 game losing streak that began with the crucial Twins series...

When you made a billion dollars doing eveything the way you wanted and having everyone kiss your ass, hard to argue with the philosophy.

My only issue is his willingness to tell us about all the people he helped and did great things for them.

Bow down, kiss the ring, do as you are told and maybe if you are lucky he will toss you a nickel.

That is Ovaaaah.
That was also damned lucky, as Kenny Williams has no plan.

Funny, I know Hawk and Farmio both played for Cleveland, but I didn't know Reinsdorf did.

7 titles.

He's on the Mt. Rushmore of all time important sports non-players in Chicago history.

That jumper Reinsdorf sank in '92 was pretty sweet.

The Bulls have returned back to a contender. They did the best they could to get Lebron/Wade/Bosh but in hindsight they were never available. He got the next best free agent available. He's put us in the best position to get Carmelo Anthony.

The White Sox have started to spend a lot of money and are making moves to try and win. We even have some Cub fans on here who basically say that he has tried too hard to win and should have packed it in and not made moves to try and win the division.

Take away what Jerry Reinsdorf has accomplished and I have a Bears title I was too young to remember and a Hawks championship.

It's only kissass Sox fans that give Jerry freaking Reinsdorf credit for writing checks to the greatest basketball player who ever lived. The guy's a shitheel.

Well, under his watch, they also added 2 hall of famers that were there for all 6 of the titles(Jackson and Pippen), added some great role players, and won a World Series in a town that hadn't seen a baseball title in nearly 300 years.

The question is why wouldn't you give him at least some credit for it?

Just remember that Jordan wasn't even considered the best player in that draft. This isn't like Indianapolis getting Manning with the #1 pick and lucking into 15 years of being great. It was a good move to not pass on Jordan unlike two other teams.

Since 1998, this team has been far and away one of the most profitable teams in the NBA. However, despite these perennial profits that come with being in one of the league's largest cities, the team has only won a single playoff series. Their organizational cheapness shows in ways like never ever paying luxury tax while the rest of the league does, or hiring Vinny Del Negro to coach the team. Which team am I describing?

If you said "the Chicago Bulls," you're right! If you said "the Los Angeles Clippers," you're also right!

They were bad, really bad, for a long time post Jordan. That still doesn't change the rest of his history. He's certainly not cheap with the White Sox and has actually been bashed on this very site for putting "good money after bad" for trying to win the division.

7 teams paid the luxury tax in 2008-2009. So no, the rest of the league doesn't pay it. The ones that do, besides the Knicks who are simply a terrible organization, are pretty much the teams with the best individual players in the whole league and very few were through free agency.

Yeah, but he's inexplicably viewed that way. And I'm guessing that if Konerko decides he's going home to Scottsdale, Reinsdorf will take the heat for causing that by being cheap.

The popular belief is that the White Sox break even and the Bulls provide the profit to the shared investor group that owns both teams. I'm not sure if that's true, but it sure looks to me like the White Sox spend quite a bit for a team that can't fill their park most years.
