On that 90 yard touchdown drive on the 3rd down play they gave the Giants a first down and spotted it at the 20. The guy was barely to the 19. I thought the Bears missed that challenge.

Also the Earl Bennett penalty on the Devin Hester return was a stupid play.

As for Cutler, half of the sacks are his fault. You can't hold on to the ball for more than 5 seconds. Although toward the end of the half he didn't seem like he was completely with it.

I know it might not be in his contract, but why can't Peppers play some O-Line!

The Bears might not win another game all year.

I've never been really confident with them but I think they have talent and I still believe in that. Every week I think they played like shit but held it together or pulled out a win or have things to build on. They haven't played really well this year but they won 3 games one against GB.

I thought they'd look like all stars some games and terrible others. So far I haven't seen the all stars and I had no idea terrible was this bad.

They are fucking weirdos.

All their talent is on the defensive side....and Cutler. If Cutler is damaged, physically or mentally, the season is over.

You can't win games hoping for 1 or 2 defensive or special team TDs every game and not turning the ball over. Their backups aren't as good as a rookie Kyle Orton.

We knew that Cutler getting injured is the end of the season. Or at least I did. I'm not worried about backup quarterbacks. Unless, they had a guy that could come in and beat an obviously beatable Giants team. What kills me about his game is that I didn't see a single thing out of the "college of coaches," which I thought was surprisingly prevalent during the Dallas game. Again, this wasn't just a bad Bears game, this was a stunningly bad game. It was on Sunday night Football. If Baldinger was announcing this game, I would have said he should have been assigned somewhere else.

Sh*t.

I keep waiting for the WRs to do what I want them to do. Maybe they aren't capable of it.

I refuse to believe what I'm seeing in the oline. If you are in the NFL you cannot be that bad.

Yeah I agree your defense can't be part of your offensive game plan. What ever they do should be gravy.

Johnny Knox didn't have 1 catch until Hanie got in the game. I'm not sure they even tried to pass to him prior to that.

The hit that likely gave Cutler his headache is on ESPN's front page. Under a minute to go, Ross comes unimpeded on a corner blitz, wraps up Jay around the waist and then whips him to the turf. Jay's head bounced off the turf.

This is another failure of Jerry Angelo. They had to scramble to even find someone capable as Todd Collins. They had to cut the QB they drafted. It's pretty clear that the whole "Caleb Hanie is worth anything" is not true. If he was, they wouldn't have had to scramble for Todd Collins and make Hanie the emergency QB. The options weren't great in free agency but there were options who have thrown more than 6 tds since 1997.

The Bears and some Bears fans need to stop pretending that they have the type of player that is good enough to say "If he gets injured, cancel the season" like the Colts do. Even the Patriots, who had a top ten all time QB, had a capable backup. This only enhanced by having Mike Martz who has been fairly successful turning average QB's into incredibly productive.

Oh well. I guess starting QB is the most important position in all of team sports but backup QB is meaningless. That makes sense.

The Bears could have & should have signed Marc Bulger, who they could have signed for 1 years $1 Million after the Rams released him. He knows the Martz system & could step right in if Jay got hurt. But no. For some unknown reason, Jerry & Lovie decide to pull a career backup with a rag arm out of retirement in Todd Collins. Hanie is the better athlete & the better QB. The Bears do not need Collins...he does nothing for them.

I still can not fucking believe that the Bears finally went after a tier 1 QB in Cutler, then proceeded to spend a ton of money on Defensive players & nothing to improve the OL or WR. It makes no sense whatsoever.
Even a casual football fan knew the Bears OL & WR's weren't good enough.

Teddy, Jerry, & Lovie will get what they deserve. Fuckers...

Your creative diagram aside, I thought it was kind of inappropriate to be broadcasting the Bears coaching board on TV. Not that it was extremely revealing but, you never know what the other side could use.

If the Bears did indeed bench Dez Clark this week because he dropped a TD last week, then Greg Olsen must sit next week for the dive block that he tried on Osi Umenyiora that resulted in a Jay sack, & the pass route that he stopped running on that resulted in a Jay INT.

leave room on that bench for Manumaleuna, the important blocking TE the bears just had to have in the off season

They didnt. They benched him because he was playing like 10 snaps a game.

But Jeff Dickerson accurately predicted Meatball fans thinking he was benched for the drop.

So far the list is...

It was one game. Not many of us would have believed they would start the season 3-1. I am happy with that for right now. Sure there are major concerns on this team, but look at the big picture. Every team in the NFC has major concerns right now. There are no world beaters in the NFC.

So? That matters not at all for this year.

The Bears' performance on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" was so bad, it was as abysmal as the post-"Friends" spinoff "Joey" & "The Jay Leno Show". Besides, Jay Cutler's wondering where Kristin Cavallari is among other things...

I think its evidence how 3-1 can turn bad quickly but I do think theyre better this season, so youre probably right.

The SCORE's Hub Arkush, who worked the sidelines nationally for Westwood One last night, says that Caleb Hanie might get his first NFL start Sunday at Charlotte vs. the winless Panthers. (Insert "Green Acres" theme...)
