In all the contests this week, I say take the points and run

Minnesota @ Wisconsin -22. 22 is alot of points. Brewster is all but gone. I'll take the points primarily because I think Bielema will be struck with a profound sense of mercy for his fellow B10 coach.

Illinois @ Penn State -7.5. PSU has real problems. Illinois will keep it close. I'll take the points.

Indiana @ Ohio State -22. After last week's performance of both teams, I think 22 is too many points. Take 'em.

Michigan State @ Michigan -4. I like MSU straight up. More balanced team. I think this will be the first good defense Michigan has seen... and I think the Spartans have enough tape to gameplan against Denard.

Purdue @ Northwestern -10. NU hasn't shown that it can blow the doors off of anyone. Double digit favorites? Take the points.

I'm not sure where those lines came from, but Illinois is +8, and Indiana is only +21.5

Those were the opening lines... but you are right, they have moved... I'll update them.

I wouldn't bet against Michigan as long as Denard is healthy every week.

If Michigan State can't control Robinson, this could be one of the high scoring Michigan-Michigan State games in awhile, with the way Michigan's defense is playing right now.

Mud, I think you are right on taking the points, if I had to pick one to cover it would be Northwestern against Purdue, especially with all of Purdue's injuries. Purdue hasn't showed much of a running game and down Smith already and Siller now in the receiving corp, add to that a quarterback making his first start, that could get ugly.

Anybody think Illinois may beat Penn State straight up this week, Ill may just have to stop Royster.

Michigan's pass defense is ranked dead last. Cousins will light them up big time.....Denard will get his but Sparty wins 38-34...

You'll be surprised to learn that I do. I'm not going to guarantee it but they certainly have a chance if they eliminate stupid penalties and run the ball effectively (which they should).

That's smart. It only serves to rile up your competition and ultimately you have more to lose than to gain by guaranteeing victories, particularly against a decent opponent.

After watching parts of the ILL game this past weekend and all of the Penn State game last week, I do think the Illini have a chance. They should be able to run the ball and as long as they minimize their turnovers, they will be in that game. I'm not impressed at all with the crap PSU is putting out there on O. PSU's QB will be good in 2 years, but he's not good now.

I don't like Indiana, but I like the rest of those dogs.

Good point. I don;t think OSU put their best foot forward and Tressel will have woken them up for this one. Indiana has some talent but this is the week where OSU scores 45.

I think you guys overestimate the Purdue offense. The QB can't throw and the two most talented WR's won't be playing. Basically, Dan Dierking is the only hope.

Purdue loses 28-10.

If OSU is going to put up 45 this is the week as IU's defense is brutal. But I think IU's offense can put up some points as well. I think they lose maybe 42-28

You are forgetting that IU hasn't seen a defense anywhere close to OSU's yet. Put down the pipe. 45-10

28 really isn't that big of a stretch, is it? I mean this is basically the same offense that put up 24 at a pretty good Iowa team last year and put up 28 vs. a pretty good Wisconsin team as well.

And 14 against OSU with 7 coming on a complete garbage time TD (at the buzzer)

IU may have no defense, but there is some talk I heard last weekend that Chappel, IU's QB, may have some pro potential, well he will have to show that this week to keep IU close.

Thanks for the compliment. Honestly, IU looks better this year but 1) OSU probably got their ass kicked in the film room this week and 2) OSU is on a whole nother level of talent than Akron, Western Kentucky etc.

Oh I completely agree, never denied that. I expected us to get beat pretty handily, just expected the offense to play a little better.

Oh well, move on to the next week, still have a lot of winnable games for IU
