I meant "music". Is there another band in any genre that was as influential as the Beatles?
No other musical act was the world wide phenomena like the Beatles were.

I love The Beatles, but people went apeshit over David Cassidy, Bay City Rollers, New Kids On The Block, and the Spice Girls. I don't think 14 year old girls are the best qualifier of talent.

Bryan Adams > Oasis

Sidenote: I think that much of my disdain for Oasis has to do with people saying that they were going to be the next Beatles. Also, what's his name kind of has a face you wanna punch. :eye: Didn't one of the Gallagher bros. have trouble with the law as well?

They're not but knowing a little bit about what Jeff likes and plays, I think he would dig that album. 'Wonderwall' is not on that record, btw.

Next time were out and about, play an Oasis song that you think I might like on the jukebox and I'll give 'em a try. 8)

It's the dopey disco fun of "Girls and Boys" that makes Parklife a better listen than Definitely Maybe.

Too much pressure.

damon albarn is a far superior songwriter than noel gallagher. but they were two different styles. gallagher is great at what he does, which is simple rock music. albarn can do a lot more.

So he's a 5 tool singer

While Noel is a straight 40 HR every year power hitter?

Blur is a little overrated, IMO

Z...you write a lot of absolutes when discussing Art (far superior songwriter...Seinfeld was about this, not that, I read 2 Books! )...kinda weird.

everybody speaks in absolutes at times, RPB. you should know that.

if you are trying to argue against my statement that albarn is a superior songwriter, then go for it. is saying he's far more...eclectic...a kinder way of putting it?

let's not get back into the "seinfeld" thing. you were wrong and you will continue to be. so just drop it. :P

Instead of Kinder lets go for accuracy.

Noel is better.

Those two books your read on it certainly make your statement fact.

You looked waaaaaaaay too far into that show and its meaning.
Its a tv show. Its not that deep. A guy named Larry and Jerry trying to make a funny show. It ended up being about people being jerks an the minutia of life.
Deal with it. :P
