I thought Alex Infante was the Braves' second baseman once Martin Prado replaced Chipper Jones at third...

Why would you pinch hit Rowand in a tied game? The guy is a piece of shit and sucks.

D Lee is batting a robust .125. He did contribute in the game they won, but has been invisible aside from that game.

bobby cox goes out as he so often did... an early (though this time not premature) playoff exit.

fitting end, to be honest. they managed to win the game where their best pitcher, tommy hanson, gave up like 4 ER or something.

and then who saw bumgarner coming? he came up lights out, got roughed around for a few starts, then resumed being money down the stretch.

the giants could phuck with the phighting phils if they can hit the phillies' trio there. i look forward to a well-pitched series, i mean... game 1 is lincecum vs halladay, and even tho lincecum was back to earth this year, man, that first game start was a thing there. halladay's goes without saying.

I wish cox could have gotten tossed 1 more time. He will retire with 161, though when he started managing they probably played fewer games anyways so he can still say he was ejected for an entire season.

A tip of the cap to Bobby Cox. 29 years and a heck of a career. Probably should
have won at least one other World Series but a great manager for a long time.

It was a very classy gesture by the San Francisco Giants to remain on the field and applaud the career of the now retired Bobby Cox just minutes after they sent the Atlanta Braves home for the winter with their 3-2 Game 4 road win at Turner Field. It seems hard to believe, but Bobby started filling out the lineup originally in 1978 for the Atlanta Braves before managing the Toronto Blue Jays in the early '80s and then returning to Atlanta for quite a career that include 14 straight division titles and 1 World Series with a constantly changing roster. He's a sure Baseball Hall-of-Famer as a manager.

he almost did on the force play at second in the 8th.

You can see him starting up the stairs before he thought better of it.

The much-maligned Tampa Bay Rays will sell some 5,000 obstructed view seats to tonight's Game 5 of the ALDS this eve vs. the Texas Rangers at Tropicana Field. I know that the Rangers' Cliff Lee dominated the Rays in Game 1 vs. David Price. Does Lee do it again tonight in Game 5?

Can they stop with the vuvuzelas it has no place in baseball. It's probably NSJ(Zizou) or something on vacation with CHF

They got to let Price know he wasn't stopping there.

Nice early lead by Rangers 1-0

Bad play by Pena. It was right in front of him and he opted to get the out at 1st.

Cruz is out by 3 steps if Shoppach puts the throw anywhere close.

Watching these two lefties battle is there any question the Sox should make Chris Sale a starter? A dominate lefty starter is worth his weight in gold.

What's that all over Lee's hat that he touches after each pitch? Pine tar? Gotta be something he uses for some advantage :?

I disagree. You only see this on a few pitchers hats, and they all use rosin. However, if it was something illegal, I'm sure the Rays would say something. Just weird how you only see it occasionally

Rangers celebrating like they won the World Series. Tampa chokes, best record in baseball and then get swept at home. Now they can go back to being bad, since they're cutting payroll and letting their guys go.
