I wouldn't be the only person in history to welcome a previously hated player to my home team is all I'm saying.

i know i'm just saying...you have called him out for being a quitter, yet you also said you'd want him on your team. that was my point. regardless of what others said, you were also on him for quitting.

I think most sports fans can understand that line of thinking.

Right, but his quitting extended beyond that series as well....in my opinion choosing to go to Miami was in effect quitting as well

well, i still think he quit even if he went to chicago. his changing venues was due to the fact that he didn't believe he could win in cleveland. whether it was miami or chicago or new york, he quit his city that "idolized" him and deified him.

basketball sense--yeah it made more to go to chicago. but to play alongside wade and bosh is still really good.

You know what is really sad? Lebron James was my favorite non-Bulls player in the whole NBA. I honestly got upset when the Cavs lost series. I really wanted to watch him become the next Jordan.

Now, I don't like him, hope he fails, and I really think my NBA experience is lessened. I don't like him but he's not really fun to root against like other players. It's not like "I hope he gets dominated by this player" like it was with Kobe. It's "If Lebron retired tomorrow I wouldn't really care".

It's just a shame I guess. I think what happened really hurt the NBA and hopefully I can latch onto Durant.

Dwade was always my favorite player but I can't root for him on this Miami team. Oh well...I still have Kevin Durant and Brandon Jennings.

RFDC, this year is put up or shut up time for Dirk. If the Mavs don't at least get to the Conference Finals, I'm done with them.

Then sadly you are probably going to be done with them. I just don't see them getting to the conference finals. I hope I am wrong as Dirk will always be one of my favorite guys, but they just don't seem to have what it takes to make it happen. At some point they are going to have to blow the whole thing up and start over.

1) Theres plenty of room on the Durant bandwagon

2) Youre being too harsh on Le Bron, he can still be the best ever.

He has his Pippen (wade) and Horace (Bosh), lets see what happens

If they win 10 straight titles or something he can be. If somehow Wade defers to Lebron in the fourth quarter(he won't or it will be both sharing the load) he could be.

However, I won't get near the enjoyment out of it that I have watching Lebrons career from his mythical status as a high school player to his last day as a Cavalier.

What is sad is that I think Lebron was the first player since Jordan to be on a pace to legitimately be in the conversation but he won't be able to prove it with Wade taking the final shots.

Why do you feel such a need to declare a "best ever"?

You dont and cant possibly know that. I dont think Wade has too many healthy years left, if any. I think ot will be LBJ's team

I dont wanna get into this whole thing again but choosing a team with talent is not a crime. MJs quote was bullshit. He never had the chance.

I don't understand the need for this question.

How about because I want to?

Jordan could easily have gone into free agency. He certainly had the chance.

So you can't really answer it and just want to act like a jerkoff as usual?

It's a silly way to view the games and the players. Today's fan is desperate- for whatever reason- to "see the best". Well, it's not that easy. If it were, being "the best" would be no big deal. Just because a bunch of goofs declare something "the best" doesn't really make it so. Jordan's statue already says "the best that ever will be", so I guess a lot of people are out of luck.

Hey look everyone. JORR namecalling again. Hopefully he won't claim that I was the first person to make the insults in this thread too.

It's a valid answer.

I find it enjoyable to have a listing of who I think is the greatest of all time and who is close and who is still playing that may be better. I don't really feel the need to explain it more than that.

Different situations

23 had a top 50 all time NBAer on his team already.

If he was dragging a team of garbage to the playoffs his first seven years, his feelings would have been different

Your answer was insulting, Rick. If you can't see that, you're not really as smart as you believe yourself to be. But you know it was insulting. And that's what you intended. That's fine. But don't pretend that I started something with you. You can't fashion yourself as this intelligent guy and then play dense when it suits you. It just doesn't work.

Your last paragraph here is a more than acceptable answer to the question. And I'm certainly not telling you when or what to post. But if you're going to make your answer an insult, you should expect an answer like the one I gave you in return.

Finally, you should understand that your listing of who you think is the greatest of all time and who is close, etc. is a personal thing and not some kind of absolute.

That distinction went to Kobe a long time ago

Kobe and Wade have been my favorite players for a while now. This Kevin Durant guy seems to be the next really big superstar in the league.

I think its silly to judge how other people view games and players.

Its how some people grew up. I did. I remember the Canseco-Mattingly arguement from the late 80s

I remember it fondly. Its sports, its about enjoyment. Maybe its not the most prudent way to evaluate things but who cares? Theyre fans, not GMs

But it becomes silly when you start believing it as some kind of indisputable truth. If it's simply fodder for discussion, that's fine. When you act as if someone is braindead because they think Magic was every bit the player Jordan was, it's silly.

Well Jordan is the one case where its all but fact. Sooooo many experts agree. Its not indisputable, but its close
