holy shit, i just turned this game on and there's 4 mins left in the first quarter and northwestern is up 7-0... then michigan state fumbles and the cats complete a ~20-30 yard pass. and now they're taking shots at the endzone... i wonder if they're going to wake up a sleeping giant here?

GO CATS!!!

edit: wow... that was a god-awful time to fumble. it seemed like a fait accompli that you were about to punch that one in and take a 14-0 lead... sigh.

the fake punt negates chokedness. that was just a great play by MSU. but the last touchdown...where the fuck does that guy get off catching that shit?

More impressive for Sparty to spot the home team 17 points and then come back and not only win but cover the 7 point spread than for the Spartans to have come out and run rough shod over a pretty decent Wildcat team from the opening kick off.

right after MSU pulled off the fake punt (for a second time?) the magic was gone. if hawk were here he'd bestow a hang with'em upon the cats, even tho they looked real bad on their last two offensive possessions.

15 mins til the battle of cheese vs corn: yeehaw!

you can't play *for* a faked punt. i'm sure somewhere someone believes coverage was blown. i just can't believe that effin punter's dying duck was caught.

in the video i noticed the ticker said "Grossman: 14-37 148yds 4 INT" --- i'll take repressed memories for $500, alex.

i think that was our first real big dose of "bad rex", whereas didn't the MSU dude throw for 330 and 3 TDs?

are you trying to get into it with me? that's cute, WWN. unfortunately your sports acumen is so low, i don't think you oughta go beyond your typical tepid namecalling and such...which it looks like you've already kind of dipped into a little bit.

You can't play for a fake punt? You should have at least alerted ur special teams to lookout for it, because the pass was poorly under thrown.

Yeah, it was a stretch/fail. If only that Bears team had had a real QB.

that's why i said i couldn't believe it was caught; but i don't think NU could've KNOWN that that was going to happen.

I think NU had their starting D on the field and just messed up the coverage.

I was yelling at the TV before the snap, "It's a fake!" But of course they couldn't hear
me. I couldn't understand during the play why Mabin stopped covering the guy. Then
when I read in the paper today how MSU had studied the NU punt coverage and saw
how the corners always break off covering the gunners after 15 yards, I just was more bummed than I was watching the game. Between that, and setting the stage with the
delay penalty, some yeoman's work by Dantonio. :salut:

Fitz is right. They can't beat two teams, and the last two games have showed it.

I can't believe we're just two plays away from being 7-0. Kills me. But such is life. Refocus for Indiana. If we lose that one, then I'm not sure we deserve a bowl game.

By the way, before the game, we got a commit for the 2012 class. A great local kid from Joliet Catholic. A RUNNINGBACK!!! God knows we need one.
