Michael Jordan's 17-year marriage to his wife Juanita is over, the couple announced Friday.

In a statement released by their lawyers, the couple said "Michael and Juanita Jordan mutually and amicably decided to end their 17 year marriage. A judgment for dissolution of their marriage was entered today. There will be no further statements."

Yeah. Jordan's probrally been wanting this for some time I'm sure. Now he doesn't have to sneak around any more. Imagine the models and actress's Jordan will be photographed with by the rag magazines.

This is Jordan's best day since that shot against Utah. Alot of hot no name women will try to hit this lottory. I'm happy for Jordan. He's gonna have the time of his life now. He got married young and didn't get the chance to fully take advantage of being Michael Jordan. Yeah he cheated but now he doesn't have to worry about sneaking around.

Plus when he was married he could only cheat with no name women. If it was a celebrity it would get out. Because he's single he doesn't have to give "shut up money" either. And if he gets with somebody famous he doesn't have to worry about them taking his money because they got their own.

I wonder if Jordan is gonna give another press release saying "I'm back".

It was my understanding he never snuck around. Either that or he was absolutely terrible at it.

Michael Jordan and his wife, Juanita, filed for divorce Friday after 17 years of marriage.

''Michael and Juanita Jordan mutually and amicably decided to end their 17 year marriage,'' the couple said in a statement issued through their lawyers. ''A judgment for dissolution of their marriage was entered today. There will be no further statements.''

Juanita Jordan previously filed for divorce in January 2002, but withdrew her petition a month later when the couple announced they were attempting a reconciliation.

During her last divorce petition, Jordan said attempts to reconcile their marriage had failed and future ones ''would be impractical and not in the best interests of the family.''

Michael and Juanita Jordan met at a Chicago restaurant during his second season with the Chicago Bulls and were married Sept. 2, 1989, in Las Vegas. They have three children: Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine.

Michael Jordan, 43, lives in Highland Park, Ill. He is a part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats basketball team and is a five-time NBA Most Valuable Player.

He led the Bulls to six championships. -end-

Well, there's no doubt that Juanita will get that suburban mansion. They say that Jordan's net worth is 500 million. She gets half so Jordan won't be buying an NBA franchise any time soon. The kids are almost grown so just a couple years a child support. I think he has a girl in 6th or 7th grade but the boys are almost grown.

No disrespect to Juanita, whom I'm sure is a nice lady, but you'd think Michael would've settled down with somebody a little less "average" looking. Don't get me wrong, she's attractive in a way but she looks like my aunt or any woman I can see in my office or the local grocery store. Definitely not "sports wife" material.

I agree. Even when Juanita was in her prime she cerainly wasn't a beauty queen. She was nice looking but MJ could have done better. I guess it was love. Who would have thought?

Jordan did knock her up before they were married. I think that forced the marriage a little because Jordan was worried about his image.

You boys need to look at your history books again. Juanita my sweet chiquita got knocked up prior to the marriage. They were married in order to retain a certain which was in it's early stages of cultivation by Nike. I believe Phil Knight personally performed the wedding ceremony.

This marriage was entered into as a business arrangement and stayed that way throughout (contrary to what 2 pages of Sun Times bullshit would have you believe). I'm shocked she found it intolerable after so many years of acceptance.

Jordan has been living downtown for about a year now.

Actually The Jordan's looked into building another house in Lincoln PArk and even attained some property to do so.

I believe I read in Sam Smith's book "The Jordan Rules" that Juanita originally went out with Reggie Theus, and that because of this whenever MJ played against Theus, MJ went after Theus with increased intensity.

Big Fan I am well aware of the fact that Jordan has gotton his women through the years. But there is a difference to sneaking around as Michael Jordan and being a single Michael Jordan. Jordan met Juanita in 1985 and she became the business wife after he knocked her up in 1989. In 1985 even MJ had no idea what he was about to become.

He could have stayed single in his 20's and done it like Jeter. No sneaking around. No worrying about women looking for a pay day. He could have gotton celebrity bitches. Now he got to bang alot of unknown hot women obviously. But there is a difference in being married Jordan and single Jordan. He never got to take full advantage of being Michael Jordan in that respect. That's all I'm saying.
