I started out a regular listener, switched to the podcast earlier this year and then pretty much PTFB for good back around May/June when it seemed the show consisted almost entirely of Spiegel audibly making googly eyes at you and worshiping you and your hockey cred/Blackhawks prescience.

Yes, the Blackhawks became the newest black in Chicago in 2009-2010.

And you were the the one and only Chicago sports talk radio guy who never stopped talking Blackhawks regardless of their record: I recall MJH sending a reporter to cover the opening (and report back a head count) of the Blackhawks store back when it first opened and no one cared and then after the elder Wirtz passed away Danny Mac advising us to tell our friends to meet us at the bar at 1901 West Madison in the first season of Kane/Toews. Great, give you your props, but then move on and give the discussion some substance. Seemed like every May/June show was a smitten Spiegel working through a schoolboy crush on Chicago's #1 hockey fan. It wasn't even like Spiegel was trying to capture some vicarious cred by associating himself with you, it was pure radio-fellatio. PTFB material for sure.

Tho I did happily download and listen to the podcast of you on Philly radio, giving Philly the business, including the one Phllly radio host who seemed to be a friend of yours and then curb-stomping them with the money shot of: "I'm in my favorite place in Philadelphia....the airport." ha, that was awesome. They were befuddled.

I like the edge Jason Goff and the other producer who chimes in on B&B bring to the discussion. They seem unconcerned about Bernstein's approval. Whereas your approval seems to be Spiegel's raison d'etre.

Thing is, Spiegel has it in him to be the way Goff and the other producer who chimes in on B&B are--Bernstein could say "It's 54 degrees farenheit today" and Spiegel would jump in his shit and dispute it. But you could say as rain fell and winds whipped "it's a beautiful day out there today, Spiegel" and Spiegel would not only agree but statistically prove your correctitude.

Everyone is allowed to love what they love, but when your favorite sport's championship game loses in the ratings by two million viewers to "So You Think You Can Dance," perhaps you should consider the will of the people. Game five lost 3:2 to game two of the NBA finals. Those are national numbers, but I'm guessing they don't skew all that favorably when you talk strictly Chicago numbers.
And that was just the championship round numbers! We are entering a new season -- people will not pay attention because it is still a tier two sport. It is better than it was, but it doesn't captivate an audience yet. This is the same reason you use to talk about why you won't discuss college football in greater detail -- I bet you the interest in Hawks vs Top 25/Big Ten college football is at the least equal.

The problem is the show needed a daily thread with a snappy title. Thankfully boyd has stepped up recently, along with JORR, to create daily show threads. Increased traffic.

Just look at the B&B section. Wednesday had 8 show threads. Lots of activity.

So, in conclusion, this section will never die. It will just multipy. Colors.
