Story of Marques Dupree. You never know how good this guy could have been, but he had Bo Jackson like speed, strides and size.

I will probably check this out, hearing people talk about it over the weekend, they were saying how Oklahoma changed their offense from the Wishbone to the I formation, they wanted to see what Dupree is doing now.

You think about Dupree, and 2 other running backs that you thought would be stars in the NFL, Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson, who because of a variety of things didn't have the big time careers.

Want to see this. 8) He could flat out fuckin' fly!

He had at least one good year ('84) in the USFL with the New Orleans Breakers, didn't he?

Edit:
Dupree was signed by the New Orleans Breakers of the United States Football League in 1984. He gained 684 yards on 145 carries with 9 touchdowns for a 4.7 yards per carry average. He had two 100-yard rushing games. He was often injured and Buford Jordan was the starting tailback most of that season. Was injured most of '85 season.

NFL
Although he was unable to play due to his injury, Dupree was drafted in 1986 by the Los Angeles Rams, but never joined the team. Dupree tried to come back during the 1987 National Football League strike with a tryout for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His knee failed the physical and he seemed to give up on playing again.

Walter Payton met Dupree on some business ventures and urged him to get back into shape to try out for the NFL again in 1990. Dupree agreed, and got back to running a 4.5 40 yard dash and was eventually signed by the Los Angeles Rams, whose coaching staff included Dupree's former USFL coach Dick Coury. On week nine of the 1990 season, Dupree got into the game and rushed for 22 yards on four carries. He wore number 34 in honor of Payton instead of his usual number 22. He started his first game on week 16 and rushed for 42 yards on 13 carries. He finished his first NFL season with 72 yards on 19 carries, in three games played.

In 1991, Dupree missed the first seven games due to a toe injury suffered in practice. Returning in game 8, he played more often and scored his only NFL touchdown that year. He finished the season with 179 yards on 49 carries with one touchdown, in eight games played.

In 1992, Dupree led the Rams in rushing in the pre-season but was cut by new coach Chuck Knox, and retired shortly afterward. He ran for 212 yards in his final game in the 1993 Pre-Season against the Raiders. He finished his career with 251 yards on 68 carries during regular season play, for a 3.7 yards per carry average, with a single touchdown.
