How funny is that zombie mode with Fidel Castro and JFK? This series needed a little light-hearted fun. I haven't actually played it yet, but I saw that on a Youtube review. My first impression after the first hour of MP gameplay is pretty positive. I never played World at War, so I don't have a good frame of reference for past Treyarch endeavors.

I hear there a scenario where you have to assassinate Fidel Castro in this game. I guess we'll be seeing this game in the unbeatable games thread soon...

That is correct. While I am very early in the storyline, you are immediately thrown into that situation.

Damn...I guess Kotick wasn't talking out of his ass when he said this would have a bigger opening than Modern Warfare 2...

If previous events are any indication, the heads at Treyarch better start updating their resumes...

Other than a few matchmaking problems, You can't really tell a difference between this game and the last Infinity Ward contribution to the series. I think all the MP Tweeks were for the better.

True dat. Gotta be an optimist if you root for Northwestern and the Cleveland Browns. I still believe Tim Couch will one day be the best QB evah. ;)

I enjoy the game. I was very skeptical going in, but it is still a lot of fun.

I love the leveling system where you can choose what you buy and how to equip it. I find I'm spending money on real important stuff like the color of the reticle, face paint, and my emblem. ;)

I also enjoy the fact that there is no Nuke killstreak in this version. As cool as the idea was in MW2, it got really annoying when you would play 4 games in a row where someone ended it early.

Kill streaks are definitely more balanced. And the Perks seem fairer too. No crazy superspeed lunging knifers.

I have a hard time noticing anything in the gameplay that suggests its much different from the Infinity Ward offering. I guess I'm scratching my head about why you guys aren't playing this one? Played with Ugie and his crew a couple nights ago... it was a blast.

Well, it's not like they are ripping everything off and calling the game a different title altogether. It is still part of the Call of Duty franchise. In fact, I think a game that is completely different in terms of all features (as a way to not "rip off" anyone) would be less-enjoyable.

You wouldn't be supporting a bad cause or something, Messed.

+1

I need to pick this game up still. I might not get around to it until around Xmas though. NBA 2k11 and life are still keeping me busy.

I don't like Activision to begin with, and their handling of COD and Infinity Ward is a huge reason, as well as them increasing the price of games whenever they get an opportunity (especially for PC.)

Call of Duty was created by Infinity Ward. Activision brought Treyarch in so they could profit off of the name Call of Duty once a year instead of twice a year. While Infinity Ward improves the franchise with every release, Treyarch just takes what was done the year previous and puts a new wrapping on it (WW2...Cold War Era...)

What would you rather Treyarch do?
