I figure with all the love he is getting I am going to give a good thing I like about Spiegs.

Just as some have picked up on his Hmmmmm's, I hope some of you notice his true ability to name obscure players of the past from teams from multiple sports (College and Pro) off the cuff.

Example, Mac is playing the 'name top 10 rushers in Buffalo history', which I enjoy as well, bu given enough time a number of people can toss out a ton of names, but as he ends the segment he tosses out the next guest or person they are going to talk to from Ohio U, to which Spiegel says "Gray Trent" and if you dont know who G Trent is , then I guess you probably aren't amused by the comment.

Sure, it's not a skill that you can put on a resume but as a talk radio host, it's a good skill!!!

Much better than telling everyone in your snobby tone that you don't understand tailgating, you don't do shots, your good friends with Lance Briggs (or so you think), you try to convince us comic books are cool, your mom still gives you most of your guidance and you have an ever evolving list of people you are going to seek some type of revenge on some day? (Which someone in dark sunglasses and an unmarked car might want to talk to you about)

My favorite thing about Spiegel is that he misses a lot of work days.

Actually, he has experience on both ends of the exchange.

My favorite thing about Spiegs is that he's not Harry. I do enjoy his baseball thoughts, though.

I've heard good things about his baseball thoughts. I tried to listen to his Saturday show but like um he was never there. So I listened to Pearl Jam instead.
What happened to his Saturday show anyhow...? Over? Fired? Now it's Rosie and Grody permanantly?

Yeah, I suspect there would be precious little baseball talk on Mac's show without him.

Sundays, Darko...with Seacrest during baseball season. It's called Pop and Squat or something.

There would be talk, it would just be bad (like on MJH).

Ah. yeah the weekend days blend together. Sundays, Saturdays...
I heard him a couple times on my way to um Roselle. Sundays. Got it.
So... this Saturday show with Rosie... it's not bad. Anyone been catching it?
ZZ: "I don't think that the people in Carolina really knew Peppers like we do now... he doesn't take plays off"
later...
Grody "So.. didn't Peppers play 7 or 8 years in Carolina"
Rosie "yeah and he grew up there"
Grody "So why the hell would we know more about him that people that have been following him for a decade"
Rosie "Well you see Zack and Peppers live together. They're thinking about adopting."

I'm predisposed to listening to as little of ZZ as humanly possible.

The last time I listened to Rosie was his "Rosenblog" on the S&R show where he would have Gus Johnson's "HA HA!" between every blog entry. Good stuff.

This is what I was finding annoying about him and his vacation time. When you have a once a week seasonal specialty show you don't use your damn vacation time on it every other week. I actually wanted to hear some good baseball talk, which is supposed to be his strength and he was never there.

So in a catastrophic week for Spiegel, BigFan tries to "rehabilitate" his image by pointing out that Spiegel has great mastery over sports trivia???

Yes, it was meant to totally convince everyone that hates him that he is a good radio host.

Funny, because I've soured a bit on that stance. I should change my screen-name to windsock.

Back to Double Z, just the sound of his voice triggers a circuit breaker in my head and some of the questions he asks on Bears Full Access make me cringe with embarrassment...
