Certainly the return of Urlacher has been critical. At the same time, when Briggs has gone down the defense isn't nearly as good. I don't think it would be crazy to think that Harris' play at saftety has made the biggest difference. Ever since he got here, Manning can suddenly play the position (after years of 1 on 1 tutoring with Lovie). It has also allowed DJ Moore to be placed in at nickle, which has been a huge impact.

I guess it has to be Urlacher as he's proven himself to be the center of this D but I think Harris is with him neck and neck.

Urlacher. And I am thrilled about it. I was getting so sick of hearing people talk that he was a replaceable piece of the D and that he should be traded. I think we all saw what happens when he is not in there last year.

While he's not the biggest difference maker did I see Greg Olsen actually make a good block yesterday?

I saw him make a few, but I saw him wiff on some as well. He also seems to be trying to work his way to being called, dare I say, a surehanded receiver
Esepcially in the red zone.

Tommie Harris for being so out of shape, and frankly, bad that he has basically been removed from the rotation.

Don't underestimate Hester's play in the return game. Didn't the Bears start 4 or 5 drives in Minnesota territory yesterday?

Agreed. And on defense, Idonije is a guy I'm pretty happy about so far, as he's been making great progress throughout the season, and Peppers, while not providing the stats to make Scorehead happy, is creating some major mismatch issues for the Bears opponents...

Gotta go with Hester also - he's presence (and return skills) have made a huge difference in field position.

The last part of your statement is a direct cause of the first part of your statement.

Yes, admittedly,as his numbers are inflated due to the addition of Peppers, but I think Izzy's done a good job of creating a bit of havoc in his own right. At the very least, he's contributing in ways that some people thought Tommie Harris would...and now I'm officially done talking about Harris...

I would say he looks more like a Geico caveman at this point.

I am reminding you of the quality of team that the Pats lost to.
