Little and Stallworth made a series of bad decisions before they got behind the wheels of their cars. They did not, at any point, think to themselves "I am going to kill someone." Vick made a decision that he was going to run an operation that would torture and kill dogs on a regular basis. Vick's transgression was morally worse, whatever the result.

This. Don't see why its so hard for people to understand why he's still and forever will be hated by the general public. I guess all we can hope for is that Vick is one day run over and killed by Leonard Little or Dante Stallworth. Put a nice cherry on top wouldnt it.

I understand it, but I think it's moronic. Vick is a bad guy. Plenty of worse guys playing. I don't care if Little and Stallworth accidently killed someone. Someone died as a result of their actions. No person died as a result of Vick's actions. Little and Stallworth will now and forever be worse people.

No man, I'm not saying Goff shouldn't expand just because I like his B&B production. I'm just basically noting that...I like his B&B production. If he gets a full-time gig eventually I'll be happy for him.

How is accidentally doing something bad worse than purposefully doing something bad? Heck, in Stallworth's case, he might have been entirely innocent (despite being intoxicated); there was evidence that the victim was trying to commit suicide by running into traffic. Imagine Stallworth isn't drunk, but driving completely within the law, and the fatality still occurs. Is he still worse than Vick?

Because the accidental action resulted in the death of a person. The purposeful one did not.

No imagine. He was drunk. He hit another person, resulting in his death. He is worse than Vick.

OK. Would he be worse than Vick if he wasn't drunk? I didn't realize that you only answer questions that are perfectly phrased, like some 1980s text-based DOS game.

I hope we all understand that the Feds only put him in prison because he was making money without the T-Men getting their cut.

Not excusing the dog part; that's the part the public is going to rail about anyway so the Fed's filed it under that -- BUT, if he hadn't been making money, but instead was just doing this to pass the time rather than whittling or playing solitaire, you can rest assured there would have been little to no jail time.

It's the one sitting on my desk...Mac mentioned Goff would be in for MP next Wednesday, so as a public service for those who do not listen when MP is on, I figured I would add the PSA. Unfortunately, when I looked at my calendar for the date, I looked at December without actually realizing it. I am currently blaming the nicotene withdrawls for any and all mistakes I make for the remainder of the week.

Roll all you want. You're bringing up "what ifs". I'm talking about what happened.

"What if" the dogs were only maimed and not killed by Vick? Does he then jump back in front of Little and Stallworth in the line of human pieces of excrement?

Fair enough, and we can argue about whether what Vick did should be a federal crime. But I don't think that gets at the moral question.

I agree, I just don't think whether its a matter of federal law vs. state law (or no law) gets at the matter well, nor do I doubt that it would not have been prosecuted as fully if the gambling issue wasn't involved.

I'm not condoning dogfighting. I've seen it up close once and I wouldn't want to see it again. But I'm guessing that the cruelty involved in the commercial farming of beef and hogs isn't stopping most people here from enjoying their steaks and chops. And by all accounts, pigs are smarter than dogs.

I don't think Vick thought he was doing anything wrong by training and fighting dogs. He was taught certain techniques and he used them. He was part of a subculture where it was acceptable. I don't think he gave those dogs any more thought than you give the pigs who provide your bacon and are treated no better than Vick's dogs.

I think there's a difference in killing qua nourishment and killing qua entertainment, but whatever the scope of that difference, I agree that humans have a duty to mitigate the pain experienced by farm animals when killed.

Thanks for tracking good sir. It is a tragedy that the ardent listeners to sports talk on 670 the Score are forced to manually keep track of when their favorite hosts will be on air...or set out some SHARK chum for the information.

This is a freaking talk radio station. It is crazy we cannot find out when, and in cases of future remotes where, our favorite "talent" will be on air.
