I can't wait to hear this explanation tomorrow so we can all share a giggle or two over it.

Based on his track record to date this thread stands a good chance to be the most commented on, beating Drinky Board to smithereens.

I swear, if he took it off for the new Assassin's Creed game, I'm done with this show...

...not that I listen anyways.

I am not one of those guys who is all pissed that Matt Spiegel is often a good number of days as I assume most of it has been pre-arranged for his band, but when you hear a TBoers saying 'I want his gig", you know you might have taken a few more days off than your normal employee?
My real intrigue came from Mac telling us "I will let him explain where he was today".
Gotta say it made me a bit more interested in where he was as Mac's tone was delivered with a hint of "This day off might not have been so necessary?"
Shall wait and see

That caught my attention as well. Almost like Mac was just a tad bit annoyed at Meat not being there or that maybe it was a last minute thing or whatnot. Either way, it seems (and this is totally speculation) that Meat is running out of time over at the Danny Mac show and Mac may be getting a bit 'irked' at the days Meat misses. Mac might have gone out on a limb for him or tried to give him guidance, defended him etc and Meat take days off for cheap reasons.

It was mentioned before that the tone of the show in relation to Meat has changed as well. Interesting times indeed.

Pretty much I hate Mac and Speigs but I actually enjoy and think Speigs does a good job when he is not with Mac. He is good with Goff and good on Hit and Run. I think him and Matty Abatty would be quite humorous indeed..

Spiegel is a good guy and had a good reason for having the week off, he didn't say how his sister-in-law died, just speculation in the way he talked maybe suicide, but purely speculation by the way he talked. I am guessing it was a shock how she died, but he made it sound like it wasn't natural.

If Spiegs is off for a music thing, a reason to get mad and think some things may change, and I heard Mac say he would say where he was tommorow, so I'll guess we will have to wait and see. I will give Spiegel the benefit of the doubt and say it was something out of the ordinary.

On his contract, my guess it runs untill next June, since their on 1 year contracts.

Speigs is very defensive.
Hey dude, I don't care if you open the door for other fill in's to get their foot in. I'd actually prefer it.
So take all the time off you want man. It's clear you don't particularly worry about your day job.

So, I'm not really seeing all the smart-ass "why is Spiegal always off" peckerwoods eating crow as they should be in this case. Keep up the fine work.

I'll step up and eat crow. My points were completely invalidated by the fact that Spiegel missed a day while tying up a legal obligation.

Other things we should all eat crow for:
Lovie Smith deserving to be fired because he won last weekend.
Mike Vick because he didn't kill any dogs yesterday.

You do not know that Vick didn't kill any dogs for certain so I would hold off on that one.

No no no...I like it when Spiegel misses work. I hope he continues to have other things to do besides work.

Right, I am hoping he is an unhappy polygamist so that his listening audience will benefit from future divorces through his absences from the radio.

The unhappy polygamist would be a good SNL skit....you know if SNL was still on the air

I didn't know Spiegel was married. He just got divorced today? That explains why only one TV. She got the 2nd one. :(

That's the difference between Mac's divorce and Spiegel's. Mac had 12 TVs to split.
