Again, my point is that evidence seems to show that the management does not wonder about his true allegiances. Tributosaurus is not a new band, and his taking the day off after a show is not a new thing. All signs point to his absences not only being okay by management, but being condoned. The comments about your desire for consistency as a listener just don't resonate with me, for which I apologise. They get a lot of vacation, they take it. I again assume that if management had a problem with their hosts taking their vacation time, they wouldn't give it to them. It just seems logical. I'm guessing I don't take my sports talk radio as seriously as many people here do, because, while I do want to see your consistency point, I simply don't view taking days off as any sort of deal-breaker.

For the record, the small sampling of complaining about Spiegel taking time off (I'm sure there's more than what I've had time to read) that I've seen seems to be coming from the same posters who don't like him anyway. The punchline, "The food here is horrible! And the portions are so small!" comes to mind.

I took a walk-through the White Sox tailgate this summer, although I can't say I hung out. Mostly because it was packed and I didn't know anyone. I was also at the anniversary party, and as I sometimes had a marginally difficult time getting a drink downstairs or a seat upstairs, I considered it well-attended. They weren't hanging from the rafters, but to me it looked like many nights at that bar.

Darkside, I disagree on this.

Continuity is great for a listener if they like the show. I enjoy Dan and Terry much more when they are with different hosts. Loved B &B in the past but I think a change would be great for both. So I'm all for no continuity in that case. And if you don't like Spiegel, yet complain about the days off he takes, it seems like you're looking for one more reason to bitch about a host you don't like. I do the same with LoHo....if I hear something stupid from him, I'm going to bitch about it and him. I'm more likely to listen to B and B if either is gone and there's a fill in.
