4. Stubbornness by the coaching staff if/when adjustments are necessary

I'd have to say the coaching staff is my biggest worry as they will dictate most other areas of the game.

It's on Turner if:
-Grossman comes out flinging the ball all over the place.
-they pass on 3rd and less than three (and Grossman if the attempt is 20yds or longer).
-Grossman throws the ball more than 30 times.

If they fail to make adjustments throughout the game, it'll be on Rivera.

And of course, if any/all of the above happens, it's all on Lovie.

I'll also be cringing anytime Hester has to field a punt inside his own 15 yard line or Gould lines up for anything farther than 40 yards.

Two big concerns:

Run Defense: This has been pretty bad toward the end of the season. If you're counting on Urlacher for 25 tackles, Bears lose since most of those tackles will be after five yard gains.

Coaching Adjustments: Lovie and his staff has shown absolutely no aptitude for changing on the fly if things are not going their way. If the Bears can't get a lead and sit on it, they will lose.

Alexander running for 150 yards.

Rex throwing for another below average rating (meaning several picks).

With the high winds, kicking game goes to hell.

- Falling behind early.
We saw last season Carolina come out fast with the 7-0 lead, and we were just playing catchup the rest of the way, and we never really settled down. Let's try something new this season - get the lead early, and depend on the run game, and defense to win the game.

- Grossman's INT's.
Hopefully, he won't predetermine where he's throwing the ball (especially to the flats), and will keep his mechanics under pressure, which Seattle will probably will looking to create all day.

- Making adjustments (coaching staff).
Last year, vs. Carolina, the coaching staff didn't perform well. I expect that they will have a better plan of attack this time around, but seeing is believing.

- Hester
Trying to do too much. It would be great if he returned a punt for a TD, but the biggest thing he can do to help is don't fumble the ball!

Seems to me that the main worry for this weekend will probably be the weather. It's supposed to rain/snow starting tomorrow through the weekend. Sunday it's 60% rain/snow.

If it is wet and sloppy, then any kind of crazy sh!t can happen and it may hinder the Bears dominance( ). A guy slips at the wrong time and a ballgame can change.

But that could go both ways and I fully expect a 27-10 Bears win (weather conditions making it lower scoring than I originally thought).

With Angelo already on record as saying that this postseason will not have any effect on Lovie's job or any extensions (and that his performance up until this point will be evaluated instead), do you guys think Lovie has done ENOUGH as the head coach to secure such a deal regardless of the team's outcome in the playoffs?

Of course, Angelo is also the same guy who said that the playoffs "played no part" in his decision to not cut Tank.

For me, no. I may be the only one, but I think he is a poor in-game coach. Unwilling to make adjustments, unwilling to pull a QB, inability to see what is working or not. For my money, they need to make the Championship game. If they come out and lay an egg like last year, he will be (justly) pilloried by all. After the record they had a first round loss is unacceptable.

My answer is no.

Angelo's wrong on this - I know winning regular season are important, but winning in the postseason makes or break you.

I'm with Nas. I've seen enough from Lovie to keep him here. I have not forgotten the Dick Jauron / Dave Wannstedt era. Back to back division titles/playoff appearances, a 13 win season, and the upcoming Super Bowl run are proof enough for me.

I would have felt alot better about it if he had come back the next year and won the division again (as Lovie has). I also would have felt better about it if he hadn't won 11 games total the 2 years before.

Even if by some miracle ( )I'm wrong about this year's Super Bowl run, I still say the program is in much better shape with Lovie and this group than that smoke and mirrors 13 win Jauron team.

More of a chronological order

When you have home field advantage in your playoff games, 2 years in a row, you had better win at least one game.

Of course, winning in the regular season is important, but would you not be concerned if the Bears were to lose in consecutive seasons at home ?

BTW, if the Bears were to lose this Sunday, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's all Lovie's fault, but I wouldn't be so quick to give him a contract extension if they lose again.

I say keep Lovie. He has proven, at the very least, to be NOT TERRIBLE as an NFL head coach. There are a lot of bad ones out there. At least we're not stuck with Jauron or Wanney.

And what's about to happen this year. It's like Groundhog's day with this club. A lot of people were down on the Bears going into this year, yet once again they overachieved during the regular season. If Lovie fails to get them over the hump, I wouldn't mind "losing" him one bit.
