Mac reports that Mike and Mike beat North 4.4 to 4.2. I think this is the 10th consecutive loss by the great Pappy--Mr. Chicago--to M&M. Rock and others will say "we're closer" but it's still remarkably pathetic. A local Chicago sports morning show should kill a national sports show. Then when you consider the money the Score has put it to the Pappy production it is more pathetic. At least if you're going to lose then lose on the cheap.

Well they do 4 books per year and Pappy's been there a little over 2 years right? Whatever it is I know he's never beaten them. Maybe it's 8 or 9. Rock would know. Rock what's the streak at now?

Even if North lost two in a row to M & M it should be a big cause for concern. Sports talk in a city this size should be mainly local. This isn't Portland where you have one major pro team and need to go national for other sports. Score management should be ashamed of themselves for letting a middle-of-the road show like M & M beat North at all let alone 10 ratings periods in a row. I guess Golic is more undeniably Chicago than North. Is there any more evidence needed that changes are needed. Keep in mind North had the White Sox & Bears to talk about. M & M had the Jets.

And yes, Make Fred Laugh would probably help.

As far as I know from the little I heard before I left for home.

We did lose in 25-54 males.....Mac is correct on that one

We did win in 12+ and 18+ males

All in all, the station did well for a fall book with little or no White Sox conversation. The Bears winning definately helped out, but the true test of any sports station in the winter book. Normally a ratings killer, we'll see who stands tall then.

Nas, agree on make Fred laugh, very similar to Johnny B's crack me up line. Just let the callers throw the jokes.

Don't know if it saves anything though

Come on, you lose the books every time and now its just wait till the "winter book". If I recall correctly, you didnt win those last year and now the 12+ and 18+ are the important people? I thought Mike said he didnt want the kids tuning in, now he does? I am getting a headache with all the excuses, why dont you just say it, its a bad product and it has failed, never worked, never will. Its been 2 plus years and he still cant be a national show, which is not a very good one at that.

Rock, you do good work and this is not personal, just face it, the show is not going to work.

That's odd Rock, cause from 2-6 I get a LOT of White Sox conversation on your station.

Rock - you're a stand up guy for coming on the board, and taking the heat, but I have to ask, shouldn't North's show be expected to beat Mike and Mike in the 25-54 demo ? He's being paid to deliver ratings, not lose to a national show.

If Score management wants to improve this show, Annie has to go - not stay on for news updates, but go - North obviously believes she's needed on the show, but sports fans listening to a sports show (as North says it is a sports show) do not want to listen to a female with no knowledge of sport. I don't understand (well, I think I know the reason) why she's on, and how this logically continues to escape by Mike North and management.

Ratings were good....heard the #'s earlier today, not too shabby.

The system is flawed, it always will be.

Did we win?? yes. Whether it be by .1 or .000000000000001 we still won.

nough said

I don't think that there will be a definate winner time and time again though....I personally think that we may win one or two, then it'll switch back and forth....we'll see what happens.

Plus, it's not our 55+ audience which is growing, believe it or not, it's the 18-34 that is. Kinda shocking to me, but hey, everyone's welcome to listen

Rock

Not flawed now I guess

Only time I enjoy it is when Mike rips on Annie during Notre Dame discussions.

Am I the only one to notice that Keeping Tabs hasn't responded in this post? Maybe the ratings were flawed, huh KS?

Rock says the ratings weren't bad for not having any Sox coverage, yet the station took offense during the season when it was suggested that their ratings were only because they had the Sox.
Come on! Which is it?
