Today I heard him say that Fat Willy's on Western/Diversey was the best bbq place in Chicago. Don't know if any of you have been there, but that shithole is without a doubt the WORST bbq place in North America, not just Chicago. The crap they serve is basically inedible garbage.

Not to say there is any great bbq in Chicago, but to say that this dump is the best is quite possibly the dumbest thing this fatass has said during his tenure on the radio.

Moron probably thinks the McRib is a Memphis in May contender as well.

I find him mildly amusing even though he is pretty much a stroke. But the key is it's pretty much common knowledge that he is a jerk off. Whatever he types is to be taken with a grain of salt.

If they put Sweet Baby Rays on cardboard, meatpants would eat it.

Shakes is dead on about Fat Willy's, though.

Well of course he would. But it actually works better with Open Pit.

I don't like Fat Willy's either.

I just saw that there is a new BBQ place opening on Taylor St near Mario's. It hadn't opened yet as of about 2 weeks ago.

I'm also interested in trying the new one on Lawrence called Smoky Bear BBQ.

I like honey1 quite a bit and always order the tips/link combo. In the past year or so, honey1 has dramatically improved the quality and consistency of its product. It's a very good place.

yeah, I think consistency was the main concern i had heard. i got a large order which was ~14$ w/ tax, so not exactly cheap. but right now, i'm craving it. if it wasn't a weekday and 40 minutes away from me i'd be headed there after work.

No, honey1 definitely isn't cheap. But that's the only commercial BBQ in the city I've ever craved.

Right off the expressway, real easy to get to. Best porkchop I have ever had in my life.

1. Fat Willys got the #1 BBQ place on the Travel Channels top 10 BBQ places in America. Shocked the hell out of me! While I don't find it nearly as bad as some of you BBQ experts have described, I don't like it either. They Marinate ribs over night in some liquids. Not a fan.

2. Honey1, just not good. Ribs are Wayyyyy too fatty. Links not bad though.

3. Try the Pork Shoppe on Belmont, you might like it.

4. Honky Tonk BBQ, aroud 18th? is on my radar! The guy got some Triple D love the other night and he placed third in Memphis in May for his Pulled pork, which is impressive.

First and simple, if a place is not smoking ribs, they are not to be considered. Sorry! No excpetions! If you think a place has good ribs and they aren't smoked, you just don't have a clue.

Well, I'd agree that those places aren't serving BBQ, but I wouldn't say that necessarily means their ribs aren't good. There's a place in the world for Twin Anchors. It's just a different thing entirely.
