Then I dynamited it.

And burned it.

They can play better. Paul did nothing and they didn't hit much in the first half.

But I won't complain. They took care of business.

And Richmond outplayed Barnes.

Big Ten Network rocks.

It has to be a great recruiting tool to be able to show kids the spotlight they can get. Revsine in Assembly Hall doing a GameDay-type interview with McCamey.

I had something come up, so I wasn't able to watch the game until right now (I had sequestered myself from all media). Not flashy, but solid. Let's hope this is a decent RPI game. Michigan comes through big, picking up a much needed win.

Indiana, Wisconsin, and Purdue are all plausible winners tomorrow. Take two of three and call it a day. That's not to say MSU or PSU can't win, but I certainly wouldn't count on it.

I didn't get to see much of the Illinois game but I did watch some of the Ohio
State game. I think they may be a little overrated but I couldn't believe the
size they have. Not just height, but they have some guys that look like they
could play football. Illinois is going to have some problems matching up with
them on the boards.

I'm really nervous about the Purdue game. The reason is that they looked absolutely pathetic in the Richmond game. Richmond is a good team and was playing alright but Purdue might as well have put all the walk-ons in because it was just a terrible performance. Today is when I find out if that was just a fluke or if there is a serious issue. With a win today they show that was just a bag game. If they look bad again then it's going to be a long season.

I've never actually tracked them to see how accurate they are, but the Wall Street Journal computer models show the Illini winning tonight 76-66. Sounds good to me. I'll go with it.

Actual was 79-67. Pretty damn accurate. Don't Fade The Wall Street Journal!

Tonight's predictions -

Duke 79
Mich St. 67

Va. Tech 68
Purdue 67

And just for the sake of checking accuracy -

Celtics 98
Trail Blazers 88

Those look really close to the Kenpom projections--almost identical, in fact. Luckily, Kenpm has the Big Ten winning the other three games.

Wow...ACC is a giant pile of suck this year...if Duke doesn't run the table in conference this year, there is no hope for them...

Wisconsin and BC have double digit leads late in the 1st half. Purdue is up 6 right now.

I hope the Big Ten can close this out before the late games, because I have little confidence in PSU or MSU.

Bobby Knight is an awful announcer. Throughout the Purdue/VaTech game his comments were mostly stating the obvious. Then he finally steps out at the end of overtime by saying Purdue - who is up by 3 after making the 1st free throw - should intentionally miss the second one because there is only 2.8 seconds left and VaTech wouldn't be able to get off a long pass. Huh? Wouldn't making the FT and putting your team up by 4 with 2.8 seconds be the better than allowing the opponent to possibly get off a 1/2 court shot which would tie the game?
(Note: the shooter did miss - although not intentionally - and PU won allowing Knight to utter "perfect" )

I actually think he's pretty good, but that did perplex me as well. He made the same point a few nights ago during the Illinois/Maryland game in identical circumstances.

yeah i like knight as an announcer; but it supports my belief that ESPN just wants to be in bed with every potential or already HOF'er, even if they're not qualified to broadcast.

if jopa retires instead of dying on the sidelines, i could see him joining holtz & crew on college gameday. and being a recurrent guest on m&m through subway's eat fresh hotline.

Wisconsin looked pretty good last night. NC State looked like a Division II
team out there.

As to not have spanky complain later that I "said nothing" I have to respond to this one.

Soon, if history is an indicator, I will be blamed for Rick talking to me more than his wife.

For the record, I never said that, but it's still funny.
