Well I knew it, the one time I actually want Purdue to win IU finds a way to pull it out.

Take that BRick!

Maybe we will both get our wish and both coaches will be gone soon.

You got your Indiana wish as the coach was fired today.

Here's the article on the firing...

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5860140

I'm a bit confused by the last paragraph...can someone explain to me why the Colts GM and Tony Dungy would need to be consulted on who is hired as the next head coach?

I wondered that too. Indianapolis connection, I guess. Very strange.

The interesting thing is he is consulting at Minnesota as well. He at least played for the Gophers.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Great news! I am thrilled to hear this. Now I just hope they make a good choice in this next hire.

I see the name Mike Leach in the article. I am just going to pretend I did not even see that. I would love to see Leach be the guy, but in no way, shape, or form do I believe he will end up in Bloomington.

I think Hope is a good motivator and a halfway decent recruiter. It doesn't show up on the ratings but he has brought a lot of people with a lot of other BCS offers. As he gets more established he'll probably start hitting on more higher rated. He needs a lot of work on gameday strategy and I am too often shaking my head at his decisions.

I guess we'll see if "injuries" are really a valid excuse. I'm not optimistic that they won't be in the same situation next year. One thing is clear. 6-6 next year is not an accomplishment. If it was really just injuries that caused our problems then that isn't an improvement. Also, do not lose out of conference next year besides maybe Notre Dame.

I predict he is fired next year. I doubt we see big improvements. At least they aren't paying him much and they can save up for a better coach.

Actually Mike Leach would be a great hire for Purdue. Basketball on turf again.

I agree completely. One of my biggest concerns is that he seems to be more of a run spread kind of guy. This year it was kind of out of necessity because they had QB's that couldn't throw.

The best chance Purdue has to compete with the big boys is to have a future NFL QB throwing it 50-70 times a game.
