Is it too early to give them the title now? Barring a catastrophic injury no one else is winning the title this year.

I look forward to agitating the CFSMB board community with another post about Mike Krzysewski being the best college coach of all time or something like that.

I'm a huge Duke fan, and were it not for Irving last night, they'd have gotten beat. Singler is way overrated, and so is Nolan Smith. Michigan St. would have beat them last night even with Irving there if they'd just have maintained the pace of the game and kept it in the halfcourt. Duke only won because of 20 MS turnovers.

See, I came away from the game thinking that Duke is probably a little bit overrated--not in the sense that they shouldn't be #1, but in that I don't think they are clear-cut above everyone else. I think MSU is a flawed team this year, and they always struggle early. Yet they hung around at Cameron for most of the game last night.

I wouldn't be surprised if they won it, but if you gave me field vs Duke, I'd gladly take field.

Wasn't the same thing said about Kentucky last year?

This is a normal reaction after seeing an ACC game on ESPN.

Kentucky was relying on freshman. Duke has a great freshman but they returned a lot from last years title team.

Obviously the season isn't over but I have a hard time coming up with any team that is even in the same category. In a one and out tournament though you never know.

Kyrie Irving out indefinitely, perhaps for the year:

If true, there really is no favorite this year. Maybe Kansas.

If Irving is done for the season, then so is Duke. They won't need him for a while, not even for conference play, but come sweet 16/elite 8/final 4 time, they'll miss him badly. Good news is maybe he'll stick for another year now.

yeah right.

I'd say Ohio State is right there too but I don't think you can win an NCAA title playing 6 players even if one of them is a monster.

Done? Hardly.

Not going to be the juggernaut that they could have been, but I still like their chances with Singler, Smith and Dawkins...I'd expect a deep run from them...

Well, we learned about Duke yesterday. Without Irving they are beatable. They will still be a beast in the tournament though.

Ohio State becomes the new #1 but they are beatable too though likely they are already the Big Ten champs.

deep run doesn't mean championship. And that's what I meant.

Rick, Florida State always upends my guys. Every year it seems like they're highly rated, Fla. comes in and messes 'em up.

The way fans stormed the court at the end of that game last night in Tallahassee, you'd think Florida State won the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship with their win over #1 Duke...

I don't think I've ever seen the court stormed by fans after a team won the NCAA championship.
