Must we keep bringing up things that Matt has done in the past?

Some people feel he made mistakes early in his posting career but his thoughts are now coming into focus and it seems like we know what we have with Matt.

I'm all for sticking with Matt and seeing where he takes us. Seems like Matt is the real deal.

Pound away. Hell, start a "I was right, KV was wrong" thread.

There's a difference between being a realist and being a total pessimist. It must be a joy for you not to be hopeful about anything, so if things don't turn out, your fragile psyche won't be damaged further.

I can only imagine what it'd be like to watch a game with you. Sure, Rex completed THAT pass, but the next one will be intercepted. OK, they got THAT first down, but they won't get another one. Well, they got a TD, but they're gonna give one up right now.

Congrats, you'll never be disappointed.

Go Bears!

No need to start a thread; I'll just point out that, well, your research skills leave something to be desired.

Not at all; I'd much preferred the Bears were playing like they were at the beginning of the season and I could actually expect them to do well. But they weren't, and frankly, they aren't.

I bet every person on this board fully believed they'd lose at one point yesterday. That's how this team is; even in a win they give you a grabber.

Thanks, and amen! ;)

I never expected the Bears to lose yesterday. I thought Seattle got lucky because they could have easily been blown out.

On the other side of the coin, the Bears were a clean snap away from a very likely loss.

Which snap are you talking about. If you mean the Hasselbeck flub where Alexander got stuffed, you are wrong. I saw Alexander on TV yesterday saying if the snap was clean he would have had a big gain, as Briggs would have been out of position. My TV showed not only Briggs but Urlacher right behind him, ready to stuff that run.

You could play that game all day. Tillman picks it early and the game could be a rout. Berrian catches a ball, etc.

Most close games hinge on a couple plays. When it came down to it at the end the Bears made plays that won the game. Seattle didn't hand them anything. The D made stops when it had to, Rex made throws when he had to, Gould made a FG when he had to, etc.

They have won many games this year that way and I expect them to win next week doing similar things.

That was my point.

I disagree here. If they win next week, they're going to have to play well. Really well. NO isn't the garbage team Seattle is, and they aren't going to squeak by on a few good breaks. The Defense will have to show up in a big way, or they will lose by a large amount, IMO.

Well, I guess if every game isn't a blow out and "your" team isn't absolutely dominant in every aspect of every game, I guess there's no point in being hopeful.

You don't have to expect them to do well, you just hope they do. I didn't expect them to blow out the Seahawks, but I hoped they would.

Well, of course I hope they'll win; I just don't expect it.
