The college sytem is bullshit in general. Only sport not to have a playoff plus you will have teams with losing records in Bowl games. Games that most schools lose a shit load of money on.

:alien: This is exactly why you can't take Boise State seriously. Normally, when things don't go there way the team they are playing against isn't good enough to beat them. In a big conference, almost all teams are good enough to beat you if you don't play well. The same is not true for Boise State.

Now hopefully all those "big Boise State fans" that never watch them play can realize that they are a marketing campaign around a really good football team and not a great football team.

Jeez, Boise State can't win them all. So they lost one to a good team after winning 24 straight. How many teams can win 24 straight games? If it was so easy for the non-BCS teams then you would see more doing it.

Boise is still a really good team that no BCS team wants a piece of in a bowl game. They would do well in all the BCS conferences. Only one that is brutal week in, week out is the SEC.

Most non-BCS teams are really bad. That's why pretty much all of them have terrible records against the BCS teams.

Boise is pretty much a lock to score 40+ in every conference game they have. Some teams have a decent offense but absolutely no chance of stopping them. Basically, for a majority of the schedule, Boise State walks on the field, goes through the motions, and wins. When they play BCS competition, the margin of victory is significantly smaller. The thing is that it's much harder to play really well in 8-10 games you have an opponent in front of you with a chance of beating you on a bad day vs. playing well in the 3 games against opponents that have a chance. When Ohio State misses two field goals, a team like Purdue can beat them. When Boise State misses two field goals, it normally is meaningless because the team on the other end is so bad. Boise State picked a really bad game to make some mistakes because Nevada is good too.

I agree. Boise would do well. They would probably be equal to Michigan State in the Big Ten. They would find it very hard to go undefeated but would win a lot of games.

I'm a little too young to remember Penn State joining the Big Ten, but I'm under the impression that many people thought Penn State would dominate there. Upon joining, they found out that it was a lot harder to dominate in a conference where every team is capable of beating you and is very familiar with you. Boise State would run into the same issues.

Something that could be intresting today, we have had 3 college games so far and all 3 underdogs have won straight up and Auburn and Oregon are the favorites today. Oregon should get through and I think Auburn wins, but South Carolina isn't bad.

I always go against South Carolina, because of Stephen Garcia, but he has a running back in Lattimore along with Jeffrey and has looked better, but today is when you have to prove it.

I have heard it both ways now that if Aubrun lost, it started that they would get in, but now with the Cam situtaion, Auburn could be out with a loss and maybe TCU. Oregon loses their out and TCU in, but if they both lose, Wisconsin could be the big winner and join the title game.

It all depends on the voters. If they make a concerted effort to place TCU #2, they will get in, despite Auburn having the computer edge. It will be close.

If Oregon AND Auburn lose, the championship game will be TCU v Auburn. No other teams will jump into the race now.

Well it will be confirmed tommorow, all but guranteed Oregon vs Auburn. I know people will complain we have to wait about 36 days for the game, I won't, I kind of like it, so that every body will be healthy.

I know people will expect a 60-55 game, but I remeber the last time, I think most people expected a high scoring game was between Florida and Oklahoma and Florida won 24-14. I will say those coaches had been around longer than these 2, because coaching will be the big factor now, figuring out how to stop the other team.

Some quick thoughts on the teams, Auburn well they did things their own way, especially when they hired Chizik and not Gill at the time, I'll let you use your own thinking why they didn't, but they wanted Chizik got him, and Cam Newton will be your heisman winner.

On Oregon, who would have thought when Kelly was coaching his first game last year against Boise State, that he would get that team to the Rose Bowl and this year the national title. In his first game, Bellotti was questioning some of the things and Legarette Blount punched a Boise State player.

My pick is Oregon to win.

For your other BCS bowls, I think if it is Oklahoma-Uconn, and people that do bowl confidence picks, that could be the highest and Stoops may want to finally win a big bowl game, hasn't done it in recent years.

Good point, and good memory.

To add to Oregon, Masoli was kicked off the team before the season, so they had to break in a new quarterback, THomas looks good, but he will have to make plays with his arm, looked good today, but Auburn's defense will be a little better than Oregon State's.

The way people have talked today and they agree with Good Dolphin, it's like Auburn should be favored by 20 and would cover that easily.

To me if all the people want to jump on Auburn, good, make the number go up, the money line for Oregon will be nice, I like Oregon watched them all year and they are a good second half team and did beat 1 SEC team in Tennesee.

Auburn's a great second half team as well. Rather than taking the money line take the over in the second half.
