I can't seem to find the prediction but don't say I didn't warn you about Fresno State being a loss...and that was a couple of months ago.

You said they'd lose to Northwestern, too.

They only won because Persa was out.

He would have single handedly held the Illini to under 400 yds rushing.

No, that was a combination of two great thinkers coming together for one purpose as TM predicted the NU defeat and I followed up with Fresno.

I know you're just disappointed that you won't be invited to my 10am New Year's Day Illini TicketCity Bowl Party.

I will consider a December 29th doubleheader of 5pm Illini Texas Bowl action followed immediately by the 8pm start of Big Ten Basketball as Bruce Weber and company dismantle an Iowa team full of ugly people.

Just wait til you hear the yells of one Margaret McCaffery. She's angry.

I read this earlier and wondered if anybody thought this would happen, if Illinois loses to Baylor and get use to the name Robert Griffin, Zook is out. I thought he would be safe, but a loss would be 6-7.

I like Illinois. I wanted them to win. It's just that this one was so predictable from a few different standpoints.

Even sleepwalking through the first half, Illinois still should have won the game.

Separate from the horrible spot issue - if not for 2 stupid personal foul penalties late in the Minny and Fresno games, Illinois would likely be 8-4.

Their 3 losses to teams not in the Top 12 in the country are by 2, 4, and 2 points. Their 6 wins are by an average of 24 points. If you look back the past few years, they don't win a lot of games that are decided by less than a score.

Recruiting seems to be turning around a bit towards the end of the period, with a few quality prospects making quality commitments in the past couple of days and a couple more plausible big fish out there. This won't be a great class, but it will be better than expected, and this was the class that spent much of their recruiting process watching 3-9 Illinois (recruiting tends to lag a year behind), so things are looking up in that regard.
