Solid signing, although if it's 3 years as reported that's a little much for a reliever.

Relievers are really hit and miss. Linebrink had some great years in San Diego and was more or less the 7th man by the end of his time here.

Linebrink was a National League pitcher coming to the American League. That's always hit or miss. Crain has been an AL pitcher so the change is minimal.

Not really and wont even be used in that role, Sale will be the closer and Thornton stays as the set up guy. Good signing, but in the end, I would have kept Putz.

Compared to putz, his walk to strikeout ratio is high - but as mentioned, the sox needed help in the pen and this hurts a division rival.

speaking of hurting a divison rival, what are the twin doing, they have now lost Crain, Guerrier (sp?) and Nathan is coming back from Tommy John, thier bullpen loosk shaky at best. They have not made many moves to their lineup if any and look to not b re-sgining thome. That all being said they are still the twins and still have to be beaten

Putz wanted to close. I would not have wanted him in that role. Now he can pitch the two times per week the Diamondbacks have a lead in the 9th.

Mully and Hanley said 3yr/$12M. Has that been confirmed? After seeing what Benoit and Downs received I was thinking Crane was going to get 3yr/$15M.

The only thing they've done this winter is (almost) sign the Japanese ss/2b Nishioka ....

It's not hard to sell free agents on coming to a team that is all but guaranteed to win the World Series this year.
