Looks like we all get to be on Jeff's side this week in rooting for the Eagles.

I am one of them. Even though the Giants were 21-3 winners last night over the Vikings, Eli Manning doesn't impress me one bit. "Rex Grossman w/a Ring" had 2 more picks in New York's win last night.

that will be a huge game, lots of playoff ramifications at stake in that one.

Bradshaw left last night's game with another wrist injury - my fantasy team hopes that Brandon Jacobs rushed for the 200+ yards this week.

Gints are a quandary. You never know which team will show up. Same for Eli. Although they spanked the Vikings good.

i suppose i could have used a smiley, like 20,000 or so of your insightful posts.

if you would like, i will give you a few paragraphs of my take on the game a little later in the week, just for you. im pretty sure i could dumb it down to your level, if there were a crayon font available.

im not overly optimistic about the giants, but there are a couple things happening to feel good about with them: smith and nicks returning, and more importantly, diehl and ohara coming back. a team that has as deep and powerful offensive and defensive lines as they do makes up for a lot of shortcomings (turnovers and lack of depth at linebacker, namely).

That's right, mofo. Tampa Bay is an excellent, excellent football team. But the Vikings have a great football team too. My prediction is that whoever puts the most points on the scoreboard will probably win tonight's football game.

i feel kinda the same way you do about your team as i do mine. they're starting to get a lot of love for being "under the radar" (really sick of hearing that). yeah they've strung 6 straight together but some of those games they could've and maybe should've easily lost...to inferior teams. the only games i've felt good about them winning was the steelers game, the tampa bay game, and the rams game. all potential playoff teams (really hate saying that about an NFC west team), and had the games well in hand most of the time.

but @ baltimore and atlanta...bye bye win streak.

While I share in the rest of your sentiments, I don't know about this one. Baltimore hasn't stepped up the way every commentator seemed to guarantee they would (& could very easily have lost to Tampa) and Atlanta (imo) is a flat out fraud.

For Matt Ryan to have won nothing significant in college nor in the pros, I just don't get the love. OK, he's the anti-Vick. An average coach's dream. He can find his HOF tight end, he can find his clownish WR (in locally only televised games), but he's never found a damn thing when it was big boy time. He's grindy...without ever having really "been" grindy.

He has equally the punchable face of a Cutler, a Claussen or a Leaf.
One can only hope.

of all the posts you've made that i have amused myself by reading, this is actually one of the more profound thoughts ive seen from you. remarkably, your tongue-in-cheek remarks you make in jest are very often more logical and somehow less humorous to me than the instances when you are actually trying to construct a well thought out post that adds to a thread. usually, once you leave the realm of "+1", " ", and elmhurst steve remarks, you don't bring too much more to the table. i have heard that you are a pretty good musician though, so i am glad you have that going for you.

you need to relax frank. what i need to do is make the extra effort to go out your way so you and i and the other board cycling enthusiasts can get together and watch one of the big mountain stages this July, and we can hammer out our differences and become fast friends. i feel like hopes for our potential friendship are slipping away.

i don't know about that, rr. i don't know that he's gotten a lot of "big boy" chances yet. i think he does get bailed out by gonzales a lot but he seems to always find him when he needs to. and they have a good running game.

my fears are more with my own team, though. when the saints want to, they can still be the best team in the league. but they seem to get out to a lot of fast starts, and slowly disintegrate a lead and then blow it lately. the weird thing is that they actually have a better road record than home; but that's thanks to hartley's shank and not so much their play. i think they've still played better at home.

the reason i think their streak ends is because both of those teams they're playing can be very opportunistic and that's what the saints sometimes need to be. and i just see it favoring either the falcons or the ravens or both. i just have a feeling that last game against the bucs is going to be a "must win" kind of situation. i hope i'm wrong.

Eli Manning knows how to throw the football. OK, and a quarterback who is able to throw that football up into the air into the hands of the reciever as he's running down the field, really that'll help this team score a touchdown, and that's what this game's all about.

So it helps the Bears if the Eagles win?

Yes because the Bears own the tie breaker if both end up with same record, whereas the Giants own the tie breaker vs the Bears..

Edit...wow.....unbelievable.,...

I actually give him a break on this one - I think he was trying to make sure all of the time was off the clock.

Yeah that was ridiculous, I am surprised one of the Giants did not take him out for that one.

Part of me wanted the Giants player standing in the end zone to go after his knees. Actually, a lot of me did.

I'm almost 100% sure that's what he was doing. He's a douchebag but he did the right thing there. Of course the NFL rules are the play should be blown dead once the player stops attempting to advance the ball, and while if it happened to Jackson it would be awesome, no ref is going to call it dead.

hard to feel good after that. its moments like this that define life as a giants fan. this is up there in the top 3 meltdowns ive witnessed the giants have in my lifetime, and 2 of them are to the eagles, which makes it worse!

i give a lot of credit to the eagles and mike vick - that onside kick was brilliant, and it absolutely was the turning point of that game. you could feel the panic starting at that point.

Hard to believe Coughlin didn't defend against the onside kick there. It's not like the Giants needed a huge return up by a couple TD's in the 4th. Odds are the ball ends up on the 20 regardless if the Giants set up a return or pause for the onside. Coughlin really only has himself to blame for that debacle. Getting in the punter's face after the game was child(ress)ish.

its the 8 or 10 seconds before he reached the goal line that i cant wrap my head around!

i loved coughlin - "what the FUCK were you DOING?"
dodge has been bad all year, he is done. id be shocked if he is punting next week.
