Since I didn't hear the North interview, I'm having a hard time understanding what "Mr. Overrated" Mike Ditka is so bitchy about.

It'll be interesting to hear North's reaction tomorrow morning.

Ditka was North's idol, even as a broadcaster. It's a hard reality when your idol rejects you.

I'm with Pappy on this one, whether he likes it or not Ditka has to realize what he means to the people of Chicago. He's always going to be indetified with Chicago, and shame on him for not wanting to play it up or feel that way, because as Bernsie said, the "meatballs" are the ones that have been lining his pockets with green for 20 years.

Can someone who heard the interview give some info on what was said?

Let me predicate this by saying that I have not heard the interview in it's entirety, just heard and read exerpts from it.

Ditka refused to pick a team when he was on with North. North was kinda shocked about that, I am assuming he grilled Coach about it a bit. Then today on his own show (on 1000, I believe), Coach picked the Bears to win and added he was rooting for them, after he went out of his way to say that he would be happy if either team won on North's show.

The whole thing is a huge non-story and I do not know why anyone in their right mind gives a crap, but it is a welcome break from all the damn Rex talk.

I had to cut it off early yesterday because I thought it was just a bad interview and I figured I didn't care about either of them, but I think the main theme was the story about Ditka not picking or cheering for the Bears (or either)

You are rich because of it. More power to you. The Bears have done more for you then you ever did for them. Don't forget that.

You're right, the people tring to sell Ditka Salsa, wine, and pork chops got to Orange man and he then said he loves the Bears. I could care less but it shows what an ass he is. Don't worry guys. That 2nd heart attack is coming soon and we won't have to hear from him much longer.

Around 9:00 a caller told Mike that Ditka was on with Tamron Hall. Referring to his not picking the Bears on MNMS Ditka said, "It was a stupid question, asked by a stupid person." North then spent 10 minutes eviscerating Ditka, including all the points stated here.(bitter, glory hog, living on his past, etc.) It would have been great, if he didn't throw in "Mike and I are still friends" a half dozen times. Pick a lane Pappy. That's North for you though. Then the Stepford co-hosts stroked his overbloated ego by saying, "He's just mad because you're the ONE broadcaster in town who pressed him, and wouldn't let it go." Pappy's humble response, "Dat's right!"
