I know I should know better than to read this crap, but all of ESPN's "experts" picked the Saints. YAY AMERICA'S TEAM!

That's all it really is: crap. This whole "America's team" thing is getting to be a little ridiculous. I think Hub said it best when he stated that in order for NO to actually be "America's Team", America has to actually know every player on the team. Even Boers stated that there are Bear fans everywhere in this country, much like there are Cub fans peppered in to every state.

Drew Brees didn't shoo away Katrina, and Reggie Bush didn't tread any water.

Does that surprise you?

Speaking of experts’ picks, anybody notice that Salisbury picked just shy of 59% on the season. That’s terrible. Good cappers can hit that against the spread. An “expertâ€

I thought Sean would have covered himself by making different pick depending on what show he's on. 59% is pretty bad. I think ESPN's 'experts' are only good for game analysis and the breaking down of plays. As far as picking winners, their guess is as good as yours.

ESPN craps on things they don't think is a story. Chicago's story isn't as "wonderful" as the Saints--but they have the wrong angle. This shouldn't be about Katrina at all. Enough of that. It should be about a team that's been the laughing stock of the NFL most of its tenure and for once the fans have something to cheer about. The *fans*. *Not* the people of New Orleans necessarily.

ESPN doesn't want Chicago to win because they want the big story. They didn't want the White Sox to win because they always want the Cubs to win. They don't want the Bulls to win because they don't have Wade or Shaq or Kobe or any superstars.

In other words, they're not for sports, they're just for celebrity for the most part. Sometimes you'll actually get a "sports story". But it's rare.

I feel your annoyance, Bears fans. Trust me I'm sick and tired of it all being about Katrina. And most Saints fans are talking about how good their football team is, not what it's doing for New Orleans as a town.

I must admit that I am somewhat sympathetic to the people of Louisiana, but come on, thie Katrina was 18 months ago and it has absolutely not a goddam thing to do with Football.

I've just about had it with Katrina. It's being used as a crutch instead of being the tragedy that it is.

So, why weren't the Giants or the Jets "America's Team" after 9/11?

There are a few people at ESPN that are doing the heavy lifting as experts. The others opinions are just derivative of the information brought out by the heavy lifters.

Berman picked the Bears on M&M this morning. I think I would have rather he didn't.

I think the breakdown on ESPN is great. For example I learned yesterday that if the Patriots can stop Harrison and Addai they have a good chance of winning. Holy Crap, how much film did they watch to crack that game plan open.

No doubt. That's akin to an old recording of Hitler being discovered where he says "da Bears."

Because the Yankees had already been annointed.

Then the D-Backs ripped "America's" heart out.
