I expect my alma mater, Iowa with all of their suspended druggies, to get soundly beat.

I don't agree. Ferentz has always been better at getting less talented, lesser-regarded players to overachieve. He doesn't seem to do so well with managing the more talented, highly-regarded guys.

This is a chance for the non-suspended guys to put a positive end to a fairly shitty season. I like the Hawks in this one.

Wow, the writers at Comcast's TV Guide had to really look deep into Iowa's roster to pull out these gems: Tigers DE Aldon Smith and Iowa DBs Shaun Prater and Tyler Sash highlight squads ranked in the Top 10 in scoring defense.

Yeah because I want to watch a bowl game to see Shawn Prater and Tyler Sash!!!! Sorry Vince....

I'm shocked they didn't go simple and say DE Adrian Clayborn.

Iowa is playing very, very well. HOWEVER-- Clayborn is not drawing double teams or triple teams, as if often claimed. He is just getting beat one on one. On several plays, he's not even rushing, just phantom rushing where he shuffles his feet a lot and doesn't touch the lineman. Missouri has started doubling Klug, not Clayborn.

I don't think he's a high draft pick anymore.

Maybe that's why the Comcast writers didn't include him in their write up?

Iowa is playing tough tonight. I really like Marcus Coker. He's Shonn Greene II.

Ironic that of all the Iowa drug suspensions, Coker is not one of them.

In five years he will kill my fantasy team?

Blaine Gabbert is on pace to throw for 568 yards.

Coker is on pace to run for 250 or so. I'll take it.

Some day Norm Parker will stop playing a base 4-3 against a spread offense.

Watching Gabbert run into the end zone like the other 10.

He might not come out this year, but a team like the Bears could do a lot worse than to use a fifth round pick or so on Blaine Gabbert, if he lasts that long.

Millen saying Gabbert will grade out to a "high 1st round pick" this year. That seems a mite optimistic.

Of all the rankings I've seen, Gabbert seems to be either #2 or #3 QB. That's gotta put him somewhere in Round 1, right?

Really? Maybe I'm just way behind on these things.

Thanks Mel Kiper.

Gabbert is probably a 1st to 2nd round QB.

Iowa needs to ride fucking Marcus Coker over and over and over.

Why would they do that when they could use that pick on an option QB from the MAC who needs a running start to heave the ball 40 yards downfield?

Hey, don't ask me. I hated that pick.

Doing the absolute minimum amount of research, I've seen stuff anywhere from mid-1st to 4th, if he comes out. I just assumed that he had the Stink of the Spread on him so NFL teams would stay away, since any QB that takes shotgun snaps in college automatically has cooties. But he looks impressive. I'd take him.

That penalty won't matter. Gives Gabbert a chance to throw the ball.

There was his "I feel like playing now" play of the game. Good time for it.

I swear I'd like to see Coker carry the ball another 8 times on the drive, including a TD dive with little time left on the clock.
