that was a very quick 42 minutes. HIGO tends to lose it's impact halfway through the disc. Still really good.
Things Fall Apart is still my favorite.

Things Fall Apart is still my fav too.

How I Got Over is just as good imo though. I like how the albums theme progresses from dark to light

I think the "Light" part is what I don't care for as much...right after the song How I Got Over, I started to lose interest musically.

Places and Spaces is a great album. I think people really hate on mid/late 70's Donald Byrd like this & Street Lady.

I think every song on this album has been sampled at some point

the version of "Just My Imagination" is great too

i'm a Donald Byrd fanatic

Their new album is not so good.

Damn, that's too bad, because I thought Rules Don't Stop was a damn good song, maybe their best yet....

i listen to a bit of everything of all the genres. it's a tact i take for self growth and "cataloging" rather than listening pleasure.
i'm basically studying...

Dug, just curious, but do you listen to anything from before 1980?

Have fun at the show. After liking the Brothers album I picked up Attack & Release
and The Rubber Factory. I found the Rubber Factory disc to be a little better but
both were enjoyable listens.

I really liked Attack & Release. Rubber Factory is probably my least favorite album by them, except maybe their first album "The Big Come Up". They put out an EP a few years back called Chulahoma. It's a tribute album to Junior Kimbrough. That might be my favorite Black Keys release. Definitely try picking that one up.

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to see if I can find that one. Had quite a bit of luck with EP's this past
year. Looking forward to reading your review of the show.

No, the album is made of platinum and hand numbered to 50 copies.

Actually it was released on all formats.
