Did anyone else notice when Fox panned the crowd at one point in the first half we were treated to an enormous old man flipping the bird to the camera?

I remember it as well. No, it was not me. The first time I heard Super Bears, Super Bowl was in a bar in Rome in 1991 during the playoffs. It has been popularized for a while.

There was a 2nd bird flipper during that pan too. Was surprised they kept that shot going as long as they did.

There were a couple. After the Saints brought the score to 16-14, two guys flipped the bird.

I also saw a sign 'Bears will finish what Katrina started' Tasteless yet awfully clever. Made the front page of deadspin.com as well.

Part of me says that is bad taste. The other part says, if Saints fans are going to invoke Katrina for the mystical benefits it bestowed on the city, then it is fair game to respond using it in poor taste.

Someone at the game had a sign that said "The Destruction and Looting Ain't Over Yet."

I think if you watch the 1985 Bears season video :D - there is a guy on there in the crowd chanting "Super Bears, Super Bowl - Super Bears, Super Bowl".

Not that I have the entire 1985 Bears year-in-review video committed to memory or anything. :D

"They talk to much. Never seen a team 16-1 talk so much." - Jackie Slater, Rams

"Can't beat us in the fourth quarter. Fourth quarter, can't no one beat us." - I think that was Otis

Lets not forget that the bad taste is not exclusive to Chicago
