Listening to the Black Keys "Brothers" samples on iTunes after seeing them get some love on the board.
I like what I hear, not sure how they've flown under my radar all this time. I like that dude's voice.

And when did iTunes up the sample time from :30 to 1:30? That was nice of Apple. :o

alright...this is probably the best extreme progressive metal album i have heard since Between the Buried and me released Colors.

Ihsahn is the former singer/guitar player for Emperor.

If you like to be challenged (ala Dream Theater), this is for you. AX7...i'm looking in your direction.

a sample...

it's so damn good.

I really liked Attack & Release. Rubber Factory is probably my least favorite album by them, except maybe their first album "The Big Come Up". They put out an EP a few years back called Chulahoma. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to see if I can find that one. Had quite a bit of luck with EP's this past
year. Looking forward to reading your review of the show.

The show was great on NYE, except for the people in attendance. I think NYE brings out an extra form of stupid that normally isn't shown. I think I've mentioned this before, but I think the Cell Phone Camera is the worst invention ever made. Everyone thinks they are a fucking photographer now. I got better views from people's phone screens than I got from my own set of eyes most of the night. Nobody gives a shit that you posted 200 terrible looking photos on your facebook, just put the fucking phone away. If I had not been smoking tons of weed, I may have killed someone. My only other gripe of the night were these fat nasty chicks who decided to barge in right in front of us near the start of the show. These Shamu's were trashed and were looking to pick a fight with anyone who crossed them. One of them just fell over and my wife and friend who were there got a look at her crotch since she wasn't wearing any underwear either. :puker: :pukel:

As for the show, the set they played was great. They played alot of deep cuts and stuff I did not think I would hear. I guess they wanted to mix it up since they were playing 3 nights. After midnight it became more of a "hits" set, so the fat drunk chicks were going wild. Overall, I would give the show 3 out of 4 stars. I really wish I could have gone to a different night now that I look back on it all. But I still had a great time.

This was at the Aragon? If so where were you standing or sitting? Sounds like it was a
pretty cool show. Just curious if they sound as good live as recorded. With only two
dudes in the band, how do they set the stage up?

It was at the Aragon. We were standing pretty close to the front. The stage is set up with both guys in the front side by side. Dan Auerbach on the right, and the drummer on the left. The sound was great. They can pull off playing nearly everything from there catalog live. They had a couple guys from the opening band play a few songs with them later in the set. It may have been some rare stuff that they don't play often since I don't think they normally have guys sitting in with them.

is it a limited edition of 500 in velvet packaging?

No, the album is made of platinum and hand numbered to 50 copies.

Actually it was released on all formats.

I got that.

I wanted to just buy their album with 10 am automatic, the only song I knew at the time.

Anyways Chululaualallala was all they had so I got it.

Its ok.

Ryan Seacrest says this new Brittany single will be HOT in the clubs.

http://ryanseacrest.com/2011/01/10/list ... -me-audio/

Hey over there
Please forgive me
If I’m coming on too strong

Hate to stare
But you’re winning
And they’re playing my favorite song

So come in little closer
Wanna whisper in your ear
Make it clear, little question
Wanna know just how you feel

If I feel my heart was beating loud
If we could escape the crowd somehow
If I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me?
Cause you feel like paradise
And I need a vacation tonight
So if I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me?

Hey you might think
That I’m crazy
But I think you’re just my type
I might be little hazy
But you just cannot deny

There’s a spark in between us
When we’re dancin’ on the floor
I want more, wanna see it
So I’m askin’ you tonight

If I say my heart was beating loud
If we could escape the crowd somehow
If I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me?
Cause you feel like paradise
And I need a vacation tonight
So if I said I want your body now
Would you hold it against me?

Give me something good
Don’t want to wait, I want it now
[?]
And show me how you work it out

I really don't understand why you chose to attack me the way you did. Do you think it's impossible for a 46 year old to have heard Vampire Weekend? It's not underground. In fact, it's ubiquitous. You gave me a shot about my distaste for Tortoise too. Am I allowed to have musical opinions here? Or do my feelings about George Ryan (with which the majority here seem to agree) preclude me from hating Joe Satriani? I've never had a beef with you about anything. Seriously, don't you think the shit you came at me with was a little over the top?
