Here's what u guys don't realize. Radio just like music, movies,tv and sports are an results oriented business always have always will be. Radio ratings have been around since the days of jack benny and fibber mcgee and molly when ratings system was hooper. You have to look at ratings from management eyes. All they care about if the ratings are good. They care if they are doing well in their demo audience in their respected market. They don't care if they personally think the show sucks they just care about how they are doing in the ratings, and that that really matters.
True.
I have a guy who works for me who no one in the company likes. He is very outspoken & a bit strange. Everyone tries to avoid him & his phone calls. But... his customers love him & his sales numbers are great. So I put up with him because he makes his sales plan every year, & makes bonus, which helps me make plan & bonus. As long as his numbers are good, I'm happy. So yea, in radio it is all about ratings & advertising dollars. However, I am convinced that the Score could change the entire lineup from 5AM to 10PM, & improve ratings. Then again, why should Mitch take that chance? His goal is to keep his job & taking a risk isnt something he wants to do. All great businessmen are risk takers though.
