I remember fans loved Jim Miller in 2001 even though he had a worse season than Rex.
Now this is truly funny stuff. You act like people decided to like Miller in 2001 as a way of heaping the indignities upon Rex in 2007.
For the record, people took a liking to Miller because he was the antidote to Cade McNown's arrogance, fans had no expectations for him and there was a perception that he was succeeding in spite of the offensive coordinator's stupidity. Shoop, if you will recall, was the whipping boy for the Bears of that year. Grossman, on the other hand, is a former first-round pick who hasn't lived up to expectations in four years. When he hasn't been injured, he's been undependable.
