White Sox talk

Some racial discussion

A few uncomfortable moments when Laurence forgets which Dan he's with and makes fun of McNeil for being a "hillbilly"

Larry's really impressed with his Lexington Steele joke. It's about the fifth time I've heard him use it. Gotta impress Mac!

I'm not able to listen today, but someone let me know when Laurence takes his mighty stand against Mac on some small, insignificant issue.

I didn't hear it, but apparently in the first 10 minutes Mac and Loho got into semi-heated argument and Mac called him an angry black man.

Yeah. The black part was sort of strange and I think Laurence said something about it...

What was the argument about?

Laurence is bothered that Chicago fans aren't giving credit to the Heat for the Game 2 win. Mac said something like "Why are you always the angry black man?" Laurence said "I'm not sure what the skin color has to do with it." I agree with Laurence...

Then again, "white hillbilly" would just be redundant.

I think Laurence getting upset about this whole "not giving the Heat credit" thing is pretty dumb. Who cares what Chicago fans think of anything? If you know that the Heat played well and you have a radio show, just let everyone know what the deal is and move on...

Beardown and Rogers Park Bryan wonder if Loho would have been as upset if this happened on the B&B show. I do too.

He would have killed 14 people.
Just look out if you run into him after the show, I pity the poor sap that has to ride the elevator down with him on the way home. That guy is going home in a body bag.

Isn't that an image Laurence has tried to, almost desperately, foster over the years?

I wonder. If Terry said the same words would they have been taken the same way. I tend to think that it would not have generated the same negative response, but I could be wrong.

I do understand why Loho would get a little testy by the comment in general. But depending on who is using it...

That would mean he'd have to be upset over something his radio mommy or daddy said. Not going to happen.

If Derrick Rose weren't so boring, they'd have much more to talk about.

So I turned it on and they are bitching about Jay Cutler? No thanks.

Who gives a shit if Cutler didn't talk to the press or hang with fans?

No one cares that hockey players hung out with fans at a fundraiser.

Who cares Larry. When have Chicago sports fans ever taken a loss well?

I don't know if this is the case here, but I hate when they try to couch their being upset at players for not talking to the media as it being an affront to the fans.

Exactly. Either the wrong person is being blamed or the opposing team is getting very little (if any) credit. This is nothing new...

Sad part is that they both think this is good radio.

He wouldn't say anything to Mac or Terry. But he'd go off on a caller. That's the point. Mac and Terry know this about him so they fuck with him to show this contradiction to the listeners. It's the truth. They play him to put him on the spot. Nice, calm Larry with Mac and Terry. Angry, mad Larry with the callers. Callers mean nothing to him so can pull off the fake "tough guy" act. But you can't piss off two important talk show hosts at the station you work at. It's very simple.

But he did question Mac about it. Pay attention!
