Arbitration is based more on service time over results. There was a case where an arbitrator had to have 'RBI' explained to him. So no, advanced stats aren't a factor either.

He's been good. He's really inefficient which results in higher pitch counts than you would think he would have. It's not that he walks guys but it sure seems like he goes from 1-2 to 3-2 much too often. It seems like he wants to be paid like a great pitcher but despite what many others think, I think a great pitcher needs to be someone who goes out there and wins games. I'll grant that he is still maturing and these are results of immaturity.

The White Sox have pushed John Danks' next start back to next Monday against Seattle and moved Jake Peavy up a day to start Sunday's game against the Tigers. Edwin Jackson also said he would accept a move to the bullpen.

Hopefully the 6-man rotation is finally coming to an end.

Hawk was talking about the 6-man rotation and said Peavy likes it because of the extra day of rest. I wonder if they're thinking about making him a sunday starter. They obviously aren't afraid of thinking out of the box. Making him a sunday starter will give him his rest between starts and the other guys can pitch a little more frequently and not have so many days off between starts.

The reason teams were able to use sunday starters was because of the doubleheaders.
