More people read internet boards and forums than listen to sports talk radio. My mother is 82 and she reads a board on subjects appropriate to her. 95% of kids under 21 are reading them. Nearly every guy I know reads one or another. When these guys try to insult people who read and write on boards, they are just marginalizing themselves as being horribly out of touch with the vast majority of their listeners and prospective listeners.

Love the movie its based on

People who think people who post on message boards are morons are in fact themselves morons

I really have no reason for saying that but on second thought, maybe instead of bashing these boards and the people who post and read them, maybe hosts can take it as constructive feedback for their on air work.

So how about they leave the egos at the door and give the people what they want!!!!!

If they listen to the people, maybe the people will listen to them

Then again money talks, and so called bullshit runs the marathon'

I love this board, but there are alot of cretins out there in message board land. Go to some random wrestling, music, video game, etc. forums and you'll realize why people that post on a message board are considered lower than scum dolts....not that there's anything wrong with that.

Actually, people considered lower than scum usually are on sports radio. Take North as an example. I happen to think bernstein fits that category also.

I understand both sides of the argument. There are definitely some mouth breathing booger eaters that go to message boards, but there are just as many very intelligent posters. To lump either in with the rest isn't smart. Besides, this place is like free feedback. These guys, if they had any intelligence, could embrace this and use it to improve shows and programming.

Take Marc Silverman, for example. He doesn't post here, but I asked him once if he comes here. He said of course he does, he'd be stupid not to. He said if there was a website that gave free, no-strings-attached commentary and critiques on MY job, I would go there, so why shouldn't he? He said there are people with agendas who you have to either discount or ignore, but a large majority of the posters have helped him improve his own style or his show.

North and the rest can ignore this place all they want. But it only shows the lack of depth they have, and it shows a complete disregard for the listener and, ultimately, their own future.

There are cretins everywhere, Sleuth. I'd say there are more walking around than there are on message boards. Have you ever gone to a Bears game? To a Cubs or Sox game? To a Score remote? To paraphrase Otter,

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties....we did. But you can't hold a whole (group) responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole...system? And if the whole...system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our ....institutions in general? I put it to you, - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

For the last ten years or more, Yahoo and other places have had message boards for every company stock. IR people in almost every company read those boards daily, comment on them and use them to address questions, concerns and comments about the company and the stock. Other boards address complaints and comments about customer products. Marketing and service people follow those boards religiously. In this regard, the Score guys are not only way behind the times, but also reflecting the poor thinking in their company. When any business disparages some of their constituents (listeners/customers/investors, communities, etc.), it says a lot about how that business is managed and the respect they don't have for their constituents. The Score might be one of the few businesses in America that openly trashes the concept of "listening to the customer".
