kurt warner was never bumbling with the giants..he was solid in the short time he started and they fucked up and went to eli manning..warner was the better qb.. and harbaugh did suck with the bears, he was a little better with indy..but not good even with his career year(17) tds was just a game manager.
kurt warner should receive a purple heart for the season he put in in NY. kurt was brought in specifically to bridge the giants from kerry collins to eli manning, and, by the way, every other team in the league could have had him but every other team in the league thought he was done and passed on him. when he came on board he knew there was no competition, he was a 1-year band-aid. he got his ever-loving ass kicked that year behind a putrid line with what was then referred to as the worst set of receivers in the league. mobility was never his strong point, but he got sacked and fumbled a lot. he handled it all with nothing but graciousness and class. he backed up eli the rest of the way and parted company and that is that. He played pretty well on a crappy team.
the giants didn't fuck up going with eli. he is still playing, and playing pretty well. last year he definitely threw a lot of picks, but look at his career numbers - comp pct, yards, tds, rating, all of those are trending up. even his INT numbers have been good with last year being the exception. He will likely never be top 5, but he will be around 10 every year, and he has never missed a start. people make a lot of fun of him, but his career numbers arent too shabby. He's a solid but not great QB.
