I'm a huge Sox fan, but he got lucky in 2005. The team won it in the end, but there was plenty of luck in them getting there. He couldn't have "planned" for things like needing to bring up Jenks, or the "AJ friendly" umps.

Luck was Hernandez getting out of that inning of relief in Boston without getting scored upon. That type of luck happens to every world series winner in every post season.

You sneak into the playoffs with 85-86 wins and go 11-7 in the postseason, then you might be lucky...

There are a lot of dumb people on these boards but saying the Sox were lucky is just plain dumb.

People tend to say they are satisfied after rare championships. But every Bulls title felt just as good as the last one other than the First. When the Bulls lose it hurts as bad as any year. The Sox werent expected to win in 05 but they played great the whole year. If they did that next year, R ick would be cheering as loud as anyone.

I think this thread is complete bull shit. Rooting for your team to win doesnt stop when your team wins. I want my team to win even more to prove the ONE wasnt a fluke.
