This is sad. The dead can't defend themselves. I didn't need to know all this shit and neither did anybody else.
Yeah, I kind of feel that way too.
Either way, the liver issue is the reason he died. What caused it? If what this book says is true and his lifestyle was on the wacky side then....
-Alcohol
-Painkillers
-Acetaminophen = very, very bad for the liver
-Ibuprofen = bad for liver.
-Oral steroids = not so hot on the liver.
Injectable anabolics really aren't hard on the liver. The orals are alkylated to survive the first pass through the liver, this can be harmful if done in moderate to high doses over a long period of time. Stuff live D-bol, anavar (a real nice anabolic), anadrol (that'll inflate you big time), winstrol etc. Winstrol can have its own set of problems pertaining to tendon elasticity and joint health so I doubt an NFL player would dose it.
And lord I hope he wasn't dabbling in GH in the 1980's, that stuff was mostly from the pituitary glands of cadavers. The recombinant DNA type GH wasn't available until a bit more down the time line. That stuff was used by Lyle Alzado as well....didn't work out to well for him although rumor had it that he was actually dying/died of AIDS.
Either way, fuck Bernsie for the "I KNOW EVERYTHING, THIS WAS OBVIOUS!!!!!YOUR AN IDIOT FOR NOT BELIEVING MY OPINION PRESENTED AS FACT!!!" approach to the show today. Christ, what a douche-bag.
