Carbonara, vodka sauces, mac & cheese, pestos, vinegar & oil sauces are all outstanding with bacon/prosciutto/pancetta added. I'll stand by my statement.

i like when bacon is employed as a condiment.

back at school, some of us went out to Carinos for dinner, and with my steak i got some sort of vegetable mix. they were all marinated in something or other, and there were little bits of bacon mixed in as well. im sure it upset the vegeans, but Ffuck them. that stuff was damn tasty.

1. Ketchup- the ubiquitous condiment. number one and having fun with all ages despite what hot dog "purists" and Bernstein say.
2. Spicy Mustard- the spicier the better. it seems like those europeans perfected mustard with dijon from, well, dijon and coleman's from jolly old england
3. Rex cajun powder- a relatively unknown louisiana company that makes a powder that you can sprinkle on anything and give it an instant cajun taste. It really is great stuff.
4. Lawry's seasoning salt- along the same lines as number 3 but a little different. While the cajun powder dominates the flavor, lawry's seems to enhance existing flavors by a power of 10. It is especially good with red meats and the bloddier the better (although I hate meat cooked that way).
5. Ranch- I probably would not have placed it in my top 5 until you made me think of it. Great on just about everything from fries to salads to sandwiches. I could probably go through a several course meal and think of a use for ranch at each stop.

Good call on the Arby's Sauce, Grid. I could drink that stuff.

Sleuth, I'm a big fan of gravy. Is it really a condiment? It's more of a byproduct of the food you are eating. I put it in the same category as bacon grease on toast, after the toast has been used as the cooling/drying platform for the bacon.

If grilled onions are a condiment, than we're going to have to allow sauerkraut.

they both suck equally

5) Big Bruce Gunpowder Foods cajun spice (Found it once in Dallas and loved it - have ordered it every since)

For all you spicy mustard fans, I recommend you give Boetje's Mustard a try. I am not a fan of very horsey mustards but it will clear your nose. It's a small company based in the Quad Cities and you can usually find it at Jewel.

I have some thoughts, Mac.

1. Tabasco sauce. (I carry sample size bottles in my glove compartment, you never know when you may need it)

2. Jerk seasoning. (Before I get the obvious joke replies, try this Carribean marinade on chicken or certain types of grilled fish. It contributes a sweet heat.......OK, on with the jokes...)

3. Spicy Brown Mustard (Sandwiches, Brats, hot dogs, etc....)

4. Blue Cheese. (Essential in salad dressings, with wings, and a burger is merely a vessel for melted blue cheese)

5. Horseradish. (Obviously, prime rib. Add to mayo for zip on a grilled chicken sandwich)

I know that this group can do a Take 5 on mustards alone.

I've never tasted jerk seasoning before but I know how to make it.

Baku,

You spelled Tzatziki correctly. Good call, it's a great condiment! The gyro is but a mere vehicle for Tzatziki.

First off - fuck off Grid you pussy.

Secondly I did announce the results in the Keeping Score thread earlier today......but since you don't gravitate away from the MJH forum....perhaps you missed it.

But more importantly pussbag, aside from nobody thinking you're an interesting poster (See the CSFMB Top 5 thread) - how am I supposed to save the environment, when you alone destroy 5 trees a day with all the damn faxing you do to various shows.

There's two threads Mr. Score. Why don't you update the one at the forum that people actually visit?

Faxing? Rear view mirror.

CSFMB Top 5 thread? Shove it into your gaping clown pocket.

3. The salsa verde from Chava's Tacos (Grand & Western)
4. Italian dressing/vinagrette -- great for turkey provolone sammiches
5. Horseradish -- graet for when you need to go to eleven
